I suppose it wasn't that big a deal, but it can't have helped Cleveland's bargaining position that Smith was already all go to make the move. 🏃‍♂️💭

I wouldn't mind going after Clowney, yeah he's been around forever and his actual raw production never really matched the hype but he is a good run defender and his metrics like pass rush win rate are real good.

Still some time, but it I suspect nothing much more will happen. Still wished they added Arden Key, but I don't think he would have been a AMJOR impact guy, just a more experienced rotational piece vs. a lot of unproven, unknown guys. I supposed if we get Paschal back here soon that could sorta kinda be considered another addition as he's missed the last two games.

I don't think I'd want to pay a 4th for him.

Don’t blame Joe Schoen.  He’s probably getting fired at season’s end.  His only chance to stay is getting hot and winning some games at the end to look competitive enough that they are building something.    Great example of why owners should be quick on the trigger to fire lame duck GM’s.  Team could use late draft picks next year more than Olujari the rest of this season.

I can’t believe Dallas gave a 4th for Mingo.

He was a second round pick just about 1.5 years ago... if it works out it'll be seen as a genius move... get a 2nd round talent for a 4th round cost. I also don't really figure the Panthers as a powerhouse in terms of developing so it's possible that the Cowboys could find a way to motivate/use him that the Panthers just couldn't.

It's kinda a catch-22 situation though, isn't it? I mean if you fire the GM, then who handles the trades to ensure you get top value rather than just throwing away good options for little return? It's almost like teams should have an "interim" person on staff. Someone who's hired by the owner to just sit in on meetings and shadow the GM so he or she can step in if necessary but it's known that this person will never be hired as the full time GM.
