1984Echoes Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Then I'd look at an under-the-radar reliever like... Corey Knebel. And a trade for another one... (Time to stock up...) Quote
1984Echoes Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 If however... they ended up signing both Kimbrell and Knebel... I'd have to say I'd be pretty damned GEEKED!!! Quote

I agree with that. The Team has done far better that I expected out of them this season. If they managed to finish in second place, that would be redeeming. Quote
RandyMarsh Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 They are 35-33 against teams in the playoffs or playoff races, the teams that I constitute as being in the race among teams we faced are those top 4 AL East teams, top 3 AL West teams and the Cardinals and Reds. I would venture to say not many teams have a winning record against all those teams. Quote

Tied in the win column, 2 back in the loss column. Just to throw a little cold water on catching Cleveland... The Tigers need to flip this starting next season. Quote
romad1 Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Can you imagine what Fetter could do with elite RP talent? It might be that his genius is in recovery efforts but imagine if.... Quote

They can't do anything about Cleveland ar this point in terms of head-to-head record, but the problems are similar with Chicago, KC and Minnesota. It'd be nice to see them exorcise some of those demons down the stretch Quote

mtutiger Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 (edited) September, schedule wise, was supposed to be their hardest month. Yet they seem to be in line for over .500 this month. Thats baseball for ya! Edited September 22, 2021 by mtutiger 2 Quote

From 9-24 to 74-78. Unreal job by AJ Hinch and his staff. Seems as soon as they got to know the guys, they turned it around. Plus switching from Ramons-Greiner to Rogers-Hasse seemed to flip a switch. 65-54 since then. That's a Wild Card race percentage 1 Quote
romad1 Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 I dread how bad we would have been with the previous coaching staff. Quote

lordstanley Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 (edited) Imagine if you had told San Diego Padres fans at the beginning of the season that the Tigers would be only 3 games behind them with a week and a half to go in the season. Edited September 22, 2021 by lordstanley 2 Quote
1776 Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 One of the things I will celebrate about this season is the fact that the Padres season has fallen well short of their expectations. Quote
