The penalty I get, but to eject him was ridiculous. This is not college football with targeting rules in place.

When was the last time you seen that in an NFL game? How many of the times since then have you seen a late hit/helmet to helmet hit? The latter happen all the time yet you almost NEVER see something like that.

That it was a foul? Absolutely. You, unfortunately, see hits like this in pretty much any game. It was a bad hit, Branch should do better. But I've NEVER see an ejection for something as (relatively speaking here) benign as this.

I think you'd have a hard time even calling that targeting. He was dropping into the hit, not launching himself. Bad hit? Yes. Foul, Yes. Ejection? Come on...

I'll add onto that, fine him yes. They fine guys for hits all the time. Ejection is just excessive.
