I think they win one of the next two close and get blown out in the other. And if that happens it will not be cause for panic.

I lean towards Packers being the win and Texans being the blowout loss, but I could be wrong. I just think they’ll be 7-2 with a smaller differential in two weeks.

I was just realizing that we were in South Carolina when the Lions got blown out by Baltimore last year. Heading there this weekend.
Apologies in advance, the one caveat is we arrived in Hilton Head then, this time we'll be in Myrtle Beach and arriving Friday

If it happens again I won’t blame you….. everybody else might, but not me. 😉

The Packers are going to be a desperate team. It’s only week nine, so lots of ball to play, but in the early going it looks like they’ll really need this win to stay in contention for the North. The Lions can afford a loss more.

Pascal is out for week 8. Our pass rush is going to suuuuuuuuuuuck. 😞

I’m not as worried about the pass rush as I am about setting the edge. We’ve been getting a decent pass rush from the interior between McNeill, Levi, and Reader. I don’t think Love will be comfortable back there.

I am more concerned about whoever we put at edge being able to prevent Josh Jacobs from running right by them into the secondary. Or, alternatively, Love getting pressure in his face by that interior and then running right by the edge into the secondary. If he’s hobbled that will help the latter.

Well shoot... that was stupid of me.

The article was dated today! Not sure why the author would have put it out a week late. But it would be great to publish score predictions for games that already happened. 😂

It looks like the league wants the NFC North to be a battle all the way to the end of the season.   They are bringing out the big guns stop the Lions from taking a commanding lead.

It's like on Hell's Kitchen (one my wife's favorite shows) where the challenges seem to some how, some way ALWAYS come down to the last two contestants from the red team and the blue team.

It’s crazy to say at 6-1 with a +100 point differential but outside the Dallas game, this team still hasn’t played a complete 4 quarters of quality football.   They have had a blah quarter in just about every game.

It's very difficult for any team to play 4 quarters of quality football outside of the occasional game when you play a near flawless game, it's just unrealistic to expect that. The level of competition at the pro level is just too strong for even bad teams to not outplay good teams for stretches. College is a different story but not in pro football.

Just heard on the radio that it's supposed to be cold and rainy a real "weather game" as Doug Karsh put it.

Probably isn't best for the Lions but considering the narrative about Goff it would make a win and strong performance by him be even sweeter.

It will be better for Detroit. With our great OL and explosive run game, it will be to our advantage. Ball security and the proper cleats...

Temps in the 50s. 50% Chance of rain. The tundra won’t be frozen or anywhere near it. Anytime Detroit gets to play in GB in these conditions is a huge plus.

Keep it on the ground.

A Lions loss may be what it takes for them to make a trade for pass rush help. If Love has all day to pick apart our secondary, it may amplify our weakness. Like you said, it's still early enough in the season for us to overcome a loss.

Yes, Brad Holmes has done such a poor job of building a roster he needs a loss tomorrow to teach him a lesson. 🙄

Love is a game time decision. If he plays, something tells me AG will do his best to make Love test that groin. They will send anyone and everyone to make Love run all over that muddy and slippery field.

Send every practice squad player in a blitz. Try to win a shootout in Green Bay. 😅 I wasn't criticizing Brad Holmes, just that the Lions have too little edge rushing talent, mostly because of injuries. Are you suggesting that the Lions are so talented that they should stand pat at the trade deadline?

In the trade thread on Oct. 14 I said:

“We have the Vikings, Titans, and Packers before the trade deadline. Something tells me Brad and Dan will wait to see how the pass rush holds up against MIN and GB before making a trade.”

This is what has happened. Brad and Dan were never going to panic like fans, nor were the other GMs going to conduct fire sales so early. After Sunday, a lot of teams will know if they gave themselves a glimmer of hope or if their fate is sealed.

I suspect Holmes has laid the groundwork for a few possible trades with teams that might end up being sellers as of Sunday evening. If the Browns beat the Chargers I don’t think they will be sellers. If they lose, I think they will and I hope a 4th would get Smith. If Miami loses to Buffalo (likely) they will be sellers. Jeff Risdon suggests Emmanuel Ogbah who fits the size profile they look for. So yes I think they should and will make a move but it won’t be a blockbuster.

Yeah, I agree with waiting, no problem. Losing to Green Bay may cause the price to go up if other teams think we're desperate. And a win may cause us to be more picky. I just wanna win and get more help for the pass rush.
