It looked like they got to 3-1 and decided they could mail it in the rest of the way. Lalonde's seat must/should be getting warmer.

Looked like the Wings were going to make it to the 1st intermission scoreless in LA, but 2 goals 20 seconds and it is 2-0 Kings after 1.

they've had 12 second round picks since yzerman took over in 2019 and the only thing they have to show from it is 8 games of albert johannson playing on the 3rd defense pairing.

Larkin scores a meaningless goal with a couple of minutes to go and the Wings fall 4-1. Looking like a lottery contender.

i would say next year is the year they go for the youth movement, but they will have to move some people to do it.  copp and compher are here for two more seasons.  tarasenko (who has been completely useless this year) has another year. rasmussen.  

at least they can get rid of veleno.

but where is the help on defense?  buium?  tuomisto?  wallinder?  all of them HIGH second round picks and none of them have made it after 3 or 4 years in the system.

lombardi, mazur, danielson, asp, even mbn should all be here next year.  enough with the kenny holland "let the prospects sit in the minors until theyre no longer prospects" garbage.  if were going to be one of the worst teams in the league, at least give us a prospect to get excited about.

this is disgusting.  not only are they getting walloped, theyre the most boring team in the league!

Sell all the old guys at the deadline - restock picks, bring up GR, lose big - call this an investment year. At least that would be a plan. And maybe a new director of scouting....

they definitely need a new director for nhl scouting.  

what have gustafson, tarasenko, or motte done?  not to mention petry, holl, copp...

chairot and compher are overpaid but at least they're "ok."  

replacing perron and gosthibere with gustafson and tarasenko has killed this team.  motte is a non-entity.

restock the picks for what?  they dont have one player outside of round one who has done anything.  or that they trust to do anything.

I didn't say they could make it work, I just said it would at least be a plan! 

Seriously, I think SY may have to make some changes in his org and they won't be popular with either the fans or SY himself because there are some fan fave ex-players in the org now who might need to face a tougher performance review than SY has given them so far.

That sounds like the Oilers' front office for years and years from around 2000 onwards. Lowe and Mactavish as GMs, other hangers-on within.

If they haven't put together a competitive roster this season, they should pull the plug on Lalonde, promote some of the kids from GR, and see what they have.
