This might be interesting.

Gene Hackman and his wife were both found dead in their home.

Carbon Monoxide?    It does get cold in New Mexico at night.   Surprisingly cold.   Those clear skies don't hold the heat of the day.

The Unforgiven.   The movie with no real "good guys".   Well, maybe the Barber.    Hackman's character was kind of a good guy, but not really.   He won an Oscar for this movie.  Well-deserved.   I don't generally care for Westerns, but that movie was brilliant.   Talk about dark.

When he made Hoosiers he thought the movie was horrible and he berated the young director daily, all day long.  Director said it was a nightmare.   He thought shooting that movie was one of the biggest mistakes of his career.   Then at the screening he walked up to the director and told him he made a great movie out of it.  He was stunned at how it turned out.    Grumpy guy.

Not getting the part of Mike Brady on the Brady Bunch saved his career (and ruined Robert Reed's).

Unforgiven for me closed the book on the Western Genre.  I know Tombstone came out later and is beloved but to me it's kid of hokey and unserious. Hackman is a certified legend and titan.  French Connection had always been one I wanted to watch and I finally got to it a few months ago.  The Conversastion is also on my list.

When Poitier died that left Gene Hackman as the oldest living Best Actor Winner.   That title now goes to Bobby DuVall

They are saying no evidence of a gas leak and two of the other dogs were found alive, one of them was inside the house.

The door was open.    The plot thickens.

Maybe the dog killed itself eating  spilled pills.

30 year younger wife suffers a heart attack or stroke and dies.  He couldn't get out of bed and died.

That is my theory.

He was found in a mud room, she was in the bathroom. One of them may have had the medical problem, the other falls or has a medical emergency from the shock of finding their spouse dead.
The dog got ahold of the scattered pills.

My thoughts anyway.

All we need is for the Gardener to have been charged with the double homicide by the over zealous sheriff and you'd have a Quincy episode.

I remember when Kenny Rogers died right before COVID shut us down and someone said that was the most “know when to fold ‘em” thing ever.

The medical examiner says it looks like he died about a week later but showed no signs of dehydration. So maybe it was just a coincidence. He had severe Alzheimer’s.

My wife added it could have been a case where he could manage enough to eat cereal or bread and water but not take his meds and that’s what did him in.

He was 95, perhaps his heart just gave out.        But Hantavirus.    Don't hear that much anymore.   Maybe their dogs came across rodent feces in their paws and somehow the paws touched something she ate.       What's scary is that people think they have the flu, and the flu has been in the news a lot lately.
