Treasonous policies pasted directly onto Americans.

1 more day…..

Interesting. I have tracked my electric bill since the end of 2021 thru present. I have each bill broken down by charges and kWh. My bill since December 2021 is up %25.58 cost per kWh. Interesting, the actual electric I use is %29.84 of the total bill. Transmission and distribution charges have went up %49.69 and %56.70 per kWh, while the customer charge has stayed the same at $10.00 a month. This is Ohio AEP and me shopping for monthly rates.

Some years back I owned some AEP shares. Wish I had kept a few of the shares since I sold. Good company.

Wasn't it poor line maintenance by AEP that brought us the great 2003 black-out?

I don't remember.

To expand a little on my post above. My rate is due to expire next month so I have been rate shopping again. It is obvious from the rates quoted, costs are going to continue to go up. All rates per kWh are higher than what I pay now. I haven't looked at natty gas yet but I assume they are higher as well.

I also think it's nice of them to charge us $10.00 a month "customer charge" when I have no choice of being their customer. Swine pricks.

I owned some too at one time. IIRC their dividend wasn't bad either.

Here in the People's Republic of Ann Arbor, we just voted to allow the City to start up it's own electric utility. Talk about daylight madness. Granted DTE has done a ****ty job of line maintenance here for about 20 yrs - they basically stopped tree trimming hoping people would start paying them for it. Well they didn't particularly care to, and the power outages in town are probably the #2 civil complaint after the potholes. So in the last couple of years, after the "public power" political drumbeat started,  DTE has upped line replacement and maintenance in a big way, but the it was too late to salvage their reputation in town and the public utility initiative sailed through in the election.

Now of course it's the City that is already responsible for the roads, (that #1 complaint) which they can't figure out how to maintain, so doesn't it make perfect sense to give them charge of something infinitely more complex to do than paving roads and filling holes? Sure it does.....

My daughter has a deal similar to that in Columbus. I'm not a fan of that, and I'm not sure she is either but has no choice. IMNSHO, that isn't the way it should work. How about a "market" where we can shop?

It's kind of like the internet. Wires are like pipes. Who owns the wires, pipes, fiber to get what we want from point A to point B from who we want. The rest is middlemen shafting us over their business plan of poaching on infrastructure they didn't build or maintain.

Roads, bridges, whatever is another matter but ours are not good as one would expect because we are so good at this ****.

If there was any doubt on how corrupt that the Biden family and his political circle are it was all erased in the last couple days.  Biden pardoned his family and political allies.  That shows the world how corrupt they are.  They wouldn’t have needed a pardon if they had done nothing wrong.

You mean like how Biden did to Trump with the kangaroo court in NY?  People will be charged if they commit crimes but I think the days of a weaponized DOJ are over since Garland and Biden are gone.

Right, you have nothing to fear if you did nothing wrong.

The stock market did very well under biden, but it wasn't record breaking.  It also didn't do well because of him just like it didn't do well because of Trump.
