MCDC has made it normal to go for it on 4th down. Like everybody knows its coming and can't stop it. The Lions treat it like 3rd down, amaizing.

I know I'm talking like it was ages ago when this happened... but do you remember when he first was our HC and there were so many talking heads who talked about how his aggressiveness was a poor coaching quality and how he needed to mature and understand when it's smart to not go for it? Now Campbell is a trend setter.

51 got SOOO lucky on that too. If he hadn't just gotten the hand in there to trip up Gibbs that would have been a TD.

Agreed. And I think Goff may have been shown a wide open Gibbs in the Houston game where ge decided to throw a low % pass to Williams WAY downfield that got picked off. He learned;

Well, he struggled with clock management at first, too. Many of his moves were questioned. And don't underestimate the decision to change offensive coordinators. That was as big a move as any other.

Just out of curiosity, what would have been the payout on a win? I avoid gambling like crazy because I KNOW I have weak will power and could easily get addicted to it, so I know very little about it.

I didn't actually bet it.   My bank blocks me from using funds for gambling.  I have to move the funds to pay pal and i was far too lazy.   I am sure the odds of Z getting a sack in the first series would have been pretty good in my favor,

I think it's one of those things where the NFL is a small sample size and so various factors can influence those numbers. The Lions are a playing a "first place" schedule this year and happen to be in a division with two other very good teams. This means they won't have too many games where they score huge numbers because they are playing good defense.

And sounds from others like the "#7 offense" remark I heard might have been based on yardage. For scoring, Lions are #1 now in Points For, with the three teams below them all having played an extra game. 4th best now in Points Against, behind the Chargers Steelers Vikings, or 5th best when you consider that Denver has given up 6 more points but has played one more game.

After this last game, the Lions are 5th in total yards. Keep in mind, 3 of the 4 teams ahead of the Lions have played 11 games. Lions are 3rd in yards per game. In terms of total points, the Lions are 1st, and the next 4 teams have played 11 games. The Lions have scored 57 more points than the next team with only 10 games played.

This team is literally dominant in all aspects. They are 1st in points per game and 5th in points against per game, but their special teams are equally as good. Lions are first in average kick return yardage per game, 4th in punt return yards per punt, 3rd in average punt yards, 4th in average punt return yardage against, and are the only team to make all of their field goal attempts.

That's why I always figure out points per game. Or yards per game...

I live right next to a park that is frequented by dogs. Lots of people bring their large dogs there to run and play. For a while there was a family that brought a couple of greyhounds who were retired race dogs. It was always fun to see them run. You'd get these poodle or shepherds or labs or whatever who would be pumping all out to run across the field or case a ball or just run with each other... then the greyhound would just bolt by them looking like they were running at half speed...like they were out for a casual stroll in the park why easily breezing past the rest of the dogs.

This is what it's like watching Jamo on one of those routes. The only thing that's going to prevent Jamo from being a sure fire HOF receiver is himself.

When my puggle was younger folks at the DP were amazed that my young dog could keep up with the bigger ones. She still has bursts of speed, just not as much stamina. Plus she gets bored after beating the bigger dogs
