It's funny how the Rams have turned into the Stafford era Lions. A flawed team but have the potential to win 9 or so games and lose in the 1st round of the playoffs.

The Lions are playing at a historically high level, this is '07 Pats level dominance with lots of key injuries on the defensive side. The Lions were the worst franchise in the league just 3 years ago, it's insane the turnaround these guys have engineered in such a short timespan relatively speaking.

The Lions could mathematically clinch a playoff spot by next Sunday, with 5 games to spare! They just have to beat Chicago and have a few other results this week. Of course practically speaking they are almost certainly already in, even if they were to sit out their final 6 games and finish 10-7.

Yes, if he would just put a halfway decent game plan in place to start with, he wouldn’t have to make all those halftime adjustments.

In the four games before Dallas, the Lions gave up an average of 20.5 points per game. In the six games after Dallas, the Lions have given up an average of 15.3 points per game.

I hope...sincerely that the Lions were holding back stuff for Thursday because i really want them to break the Bears.

I am looking forward to seeing how the defense fairs against a qb like Josh Allen in a couple weeks. 

I don't expect them to hold them without a TD like they have done the last couple weeks but if they can even hold them to around 21 points it would make me feel good about this defense come playoff time and would show that they can handle even the best qbs.

This is interesting, but also dumb. Why is an injury timeout insufficient notice but a team timeout enough? Everyone knew Decker was going out, no one was going to be confused by Skip at LT.

I disagree... it was pretty clear Branch lead with the helmet there. That's a clear penalty and Branch needs to do better... and CAN do better too.

What's quite impressive here is that the coaching staff was up on the rule book, knew that this was a problem, got the right people in the right positions and even ran a play designed to minimum the patch-work status of the left side.

You KNOW that 5 years ago this would have been a situation where the Lions put in Skipper, got a huge positive play, and had it called back for illegal substitution.

To be honest, with something like this, the officials would have probably tried to prevent it from becoming an issue by making sure Campbell knew.

Valid point... though I still won't put it past some of our past coaches to ignore the officials efforts. 🙂
