Yeah, that was a weak, weak, weak call. Nearly every time I think I see a horrible call on replay I go: "Oh, yeah... I see now." Or at least "Eh, that's touchy, but I guess maybe..."

But this one? On the slow motion replay I kept waiting to see what it was called on expecting something more, but then the play was over.

The back judge tried to talk him out of it too, but he wanted to give the Bears another shot.

Bears coach shoulda been fired last year. This loss is on whoever decided to keep that idiot coach around. And Detroit thanks whoever it was...

Hopefully he's shown just enough to make the Bear's Brass think he's right there on the cusp of getting it figured out.

Offense did not execute in red zone. They missed Decker. IIRC, they had three trips inside the ten where they came away with only with six points.

In second half, Jaymo’s personal foul broke a drive. Unacceptable.

The refs called a bunch of ticky-tack penalties on both sides. Dudes, nobody wants to see you, especially on thanksgiving.

Let’s hope the defense can get healthy soon. They were running guys out they that I’ve never heard of.

Interestingly, they call that silly crap on the outside but not the right tackle holding and moving early that actually effect the play.

If Caleb completes something short over the middle they call timeout and still kick.

That was the hope but once it hit 20 seconds just burn the time out. Don't risk what happened

The idea is to not leave Detroit any time, so you want to bleed the clock. You don’t want to sit in the pocket and take a shot downfield.

I understand what they were trying to do and would do the same thing if it were the Lions, but when Caleb was taking too long he needs to call a timeout. He can’t just rely on his rookie QB to have good clock management.

Yes, and save a few seconds for a FG. Pathetic coaching and execution. Glad it is happening on the other sideline now.

Once he took thr sack they were outside field goal range. Bleeding clock then is silly thinking. First goal has to be getting in range. Clock doesn't matter if you don't even give yourself a shot.

If they were in range you'd be correct but they weren't.

I think they were as surprised as everyone else that Caleb made such a moronic decision. Who here would have ever guessed that sequence was going to happen? It’s inexplicable.

It was 3rd and 24. They weren’t getting another first down. The idea is to get 10 yards or so to get back into range and then call timeout. Worst case you get an incompletion and use the last second or 2 for the Hail Mary. The Bears knew they had 2 more plays*. So the second is either a FG attempt or a Hail Mary. They don’t want to leave Detroit 20 seconds for a final possession after the assumed made FG.

* they only got one play because Caleb decided to take away the FG option by going for the win.

When Eberflus sees Caleb taking too long, he needs to call the timeout. When you have a rookie QB, sometimes you need to intervene.

The Bears lollygaged to the line, he only had about 8 seconds or so to get the play off. Somebody needed to call a timeout just to get organized.

If that was the case then why have multiple receivers running routes to the goal line?
