Eberflus pretends not to get it. The question isn’t why they didnt rush to get off a play right at the 30 second mark or why they didn’t use the time out with 30 seconds to go. It’s why he as the head office didn’t step in and call when it got down to about 10 seconds to go. Still would have had time even then for a 3rd down sideline pass to maybe get into FG position.

He’s right though. Calling the timeout would have taken away the guarantee at 2 more plays*. I mean we are all assuming that Caleb wouldn’t take a sack on 3rd down after running around for all 20-ish seconds. That’s no more stupid or improbable than snapping the ball with 6 seconds left and then throwing a deep ball to burn all the clock.

* they didn’t get 2 plays simply because of mass ineptitude. Eberfleptitude?

Maybe Caleb’s intention, knowing the refs, was to draw a pass interference call as time run out and then take the spot at the 1 and punch it in for the win on the free play. 4D chess.

This is equally probable.

Kansas City needed a last second FG to beat Carolina. The Bears, even after this loss, have a positive point differential. They don’t get blown out.

Who cares about KC.  We had every opportunity to put it away.

I've seen Bears message boards say it was a QB draw that was initially called.

He's a bigger dummy than I thought if he thinks he doesn't have time for a draw and timeout, but does have time for a throw to the end zone.

Both him and Eberflus deserve blame. The Side Judge did his part guys and kept you in it!!

Caleb Williams is a little b***h

Caleb Williams on Jack Campbell’s hit to his left knee: “I didn’t really appreciate the play”

Then don’t try to fake going out of bounds for a few extra yards.

Seriously. You have three options: (a) slide, (b) get out of bounds, (c) get wrecked. You chose (c), you don't get to bitch and moan about it when it hurts.

I don't think they'd do it on Thanksgiving.  Not buying it.   Now tomorrow,  I'm buying it.

The Bears have never fired a coach midseason, and I don't see why this would be any different. His staff are lame ducks too, it's not like Thomas Brown or Eric Washington would turn the team into a playoff contender with five games left.

I expect him to stick around until Black Monday.

Packers seem to be getting hot while the Lions are getting hurt. I don't have the greatest feeling about next week when they'll effectively be playing for any hope they have of winning the division.

I probably am overreacting to the last two weeks. I didn't watch the 49ers game, but I expected closer than 38-10. This Dolphins team is trash. Mike McDaniel is probably on a hot seat (though he might be okay with that in the Lambeau weather).

They beat this Bears team by 1 and should have lost, we beat them by 3 and should have won by more than 10. They beat the Jaguars by 3 (though with Lawrence), we beat the Jags so badly they're still icing their bottoms.

The point remains that they'll be playing for their divisional life next week. They can't drop to 9-4 with a 12-1 leader and four games left and expect to host a playoff game.

Love got hit in the first quarter while winding up to throw. It was ruled an incomplete pass but you could see the defensive player brushed the ball while Love’s hand was going back. Should have been a fumble. On the next play GB punted and Miami fumbled and lost the ball. It has gone downhill from there.
