I’m can see why the reaction to this would be a little more subdued. It was pretty much 98% Bates was gonna hit it. The really big play was the fourth and inches.

When the Lions made the stop with more than 3 minutes left, I was unreasonably confident that they would win this game. It's a new era of Lions football, and they are simply built to have a nice and easy three-minute game winning drive.

I'm still not convinced the Lions didn't get the first down on the long pass play on 2nd down. Would at least like to have seen better replays, given how close it seemed and how huge were the ramifications. This isn't a straight-on angle and perhaps his right knee beat his left knee down. But couldn't the Lions have challenged the spot? They had timeouts to spare at that point.

That’s a different play. St Brown caught the 2nd down pass. I believe the Lions did get a 1st down on that play pictured.

Ha, I'm an idiot. The game last night scrambled my brain.

I agree on the ARSB catch in this case. Also it seems like the ref's always replace a spot in these circumstances at least a foot behind.  ARSB was no more than 6" from the line to gain if he was short at all. But they place the ball about 2' back. Same with Goff's QB sneak. It's called a TD on the field but ball is placed about 1.5ft away from the goal line?  If it was really 1.5ft away, how'd you see a TD? Its like they overcompensate moving backward.

Canada loves the Lions;

My brother was visiting my mom in Sarnia and says Lions merch is all over town. On the shelves and on the backs of people wearing it. Lots of Bluewater Bridge traffic on gamedays from people heading over to Ford Field.

I think Western Ontario is for the Lions but Eastern is probably for the Bills. I also imagine Provinces like Manitoba and Saskatchewan are for the Vikings. I know the city of Winnipeg is for sure cause I have friends that live there and they say that the Vikings are the team of choice there.

You are correct. Hamilton-Niagara Falls is big Bills territory. Manitoba definitely the Vikings. It has been stated that at least 5% of Seahawks season ticket holders are from B.C.

Well, not everyone has our good taste. I would never trust an opinion from a group of people who put vinegar on their french fries...🤣🤣

Even over the Bombers?

Packers shouldn’t frighten anyone after last night.  We beat a 9-3 team with a handful of players in key roles that weren’t on a 53-roster as recent as last week.

We are clearly in their collective heads.  We had little business beating them yesterday.

The Packers are 1-4 against teams with a winning record. They are 1-3 in the division. Their one division win is because of a blocked FG against the Bears. They beat up on a soft Dolphins team and suddenly people thought they were great.

It's be interesting to see where the divide is. London appears to be pretty much half way between Buffalo and Detroit so just based on pure geography it seems like it could go either way.

Packers are still a solid team. 9-4 would put them in first place in three divisions and second place in the other 4. It's only in the NFC North that they're pushed down to 3rd place. Then look at their four losses: 2 for the NFL leading Lions and 2 to teams right behind the Lions at 10-2. The Packers are a solid team that will make the playoffs (most likely) and most other teams should expect a very tough game is not straight up assume a loss.

I would assume the Pack wins against Seattle, NO, and Chicago. They may or may not lose to the Vikings.

I suspect London is just about the outer limit of Lions territory. Still a good amount of Tigers fans in London, the Tigers had an A-ball affiliate there for a bit in the '90s, IIRC. London is heavily Leafs territory, the number of Wings fans dwindles beyond Windsor-Chatham-Sarnia/Lambton.

Pack scares me more than the Vikings. I expect the Lions to thump the Vikings in the final game of the season if the Lions still need a result there. I'll be cheering for the NFC South and NFC West champs to knock out both the Vikings and Packers.

Vikings fans are delusional too. Just heard on NFL Radio: “I’m not afraid of Detroit. They are teetering.” Well, their fourth string defense just beat the Packers. If that is teetering, I’ll take it.
