Red Wings December 2024

Some scheduling relief this month,  but no game should be considered easy for this season’s Wings.

Decent first period against Vancouver, but any type of penalty trouble is deadly for the Wings. Give up two PP goals early in the 2nd, then Pius Suter strikes against his old team to give the Canucks a 3-2 lead after 2.

wings come out dominating the third period.  outshooting them 9-0.  scored two goals.  one a garbage in front goal from rasmussen (which is what he should be doing every game) and the other a very pretty goal by tarasenko on a nice rush by kasper and a good pass from berggren.

What a play by Kasper in the neutral zone on the go ahead goal. Nice pass by burgers too.  I feel like Berggren is playing a much better overall game this season, or at least lately.

One of the better Wings stretches all season. 4-3 Detroit, 11 minutes to go.

Is the team better without Kane? I was okay with potentially not signing him then was thrilled at what he did sign for. I feel like he’s been a let down so far this season so I would say it doesn’t hurt having him out of the lineup.

He has not provided the same spark as last season, that’s for sure.

After 5 minutes of the puck barely leaving the Wings’ zone, Vancouver ties it with just 3:20 to go.

lalonde gets a lead and promptly goes into prevent defense mode.

sure enough, husso lets in a soft goal and its tied at 4.

and now theyre on the power play after a debrincat screw up.

And now DeBrincat shoots puck over boards for late delay of game penalty!

Wings survive to OT.  Except maybe Rasmussen, who is down after blocking a shot with 4 seconds to go in regulation

Husso stops Pius on breakaway. Phew.

Husso should have had that. Canucks win 10th straight road game

Nope. He's 36 and has a reground hip. Resigning him smacked more of hope than wisdom. This season Yzerman's decisions on who to pass and who to pay have largely come a cropper.

Home stretch is over. On the road tonight in Boston. 1-1 midway through 1st, as Raymond scores again.

Is this game on Hulu?  Same thing happened last year. I bring up the app on my TV and I cannot find it anywhere.

its so frustrating to watch this team try to do simple things like bring the puck out of their own zone.  in back to back instances chiarot tries to pass to center but it goes off a wide open red wings' stick and out of play.  the next time gufstafson tries to clear off his own board and it goes all the way down for icing.

so infuriating they cant even do the little things.

i dont really care for lalonde, but in his defense, what do you exoect a guy to do when you have justin holl, jeff petry, eric gustafson, and ben chiarot on defense?
