Petry re-scores his 2nd goal of the season in the final minute of the period to make it 2-2 after 1. His “2-goal game” a lttile while back was knocked back to one goal the next day on a scoring change.

with all due respect, why is johansson not playing and gustaffson is?

unless johannson is hurt, he should be out there.  gustaffson is ****ing god awful.  no reason he should be playing.

loss that tells them where they really are.  outshot by montreal, which is hard to do.

at this point, its better to lose.  place your hopes with the lottery gods again.

Wings deserved to lose, but still would have won with better goal tending. Two of the 4 Montreal goals were pretty weak. But Montreal picked up the pace in the 3rd and the Wings had no answer.

Team is so poorly put together. Raymond and Larkin are totally wasted being out there without someone who can recover pucks. Ras would be the guy if he played more often like he played tonight.

If Lalonde finishes out the season it will be the proof that was the plan. He seems like a beaten man in the post games - even after the wins. I would imagine his agent has to have asked to discuss an extension and they haven't returned his calls. :classic_sleep:

I don't think the Red Wings and Steve Yzerman will fire Derek LaLonde 3 days before Christmas, but if they lose again to Montreal, that decision must be made and then carried out after Christmas.   Derek will be fine.  He's a millionaire, he will be an assistant coach in a heartbeat in the NHL.    But this can't continue.  Something needs to change.  They need some kind of spark and the easiest way to get it, at this point, would be a new coach.     if they lose tonight, they're at the bottom of the conference, right?    But they are not out of the playoff chase completely.   But if they are going to make a run at it, that would have to start pretty soon.     I don't want to hear about this being a throwaway year.    Screw that.   It's been a throwaway decade and we're all tired of it and there is no excuse for it anymore.
