Season ticket renewals went out today and there are a lot of shocked people.   How bad was it for you @MichiganCardinal?

It’s an odd conundrum.  The value to  resell the seats has skyrocketed and driven the market up but the only way to take advantage of it is to not go to the games.  The massive majority of season ticket holders are hard core fans that want to go to every game.  They don’t want to sell tickets for a profit on the secondary market.

Don’t tell the Lions, but after last year (73% hike), I got off suuuuper easy. 7% increase.

I posted about my increase in a STH Facebook group. Left for dinner and checked the post a minute ago.

Despite the increases, the Lions are still middle of the pack.

The Lions are algorithmic based in their prices, while a lot of teams have Personal Seat Licenses. If they maintain this level of good for the next five years or so, I could see them transition, but PSLs require like ten-year contracts.

The algorithm allows them to have dynamic prices based on demand. So people with front row seats, in any section, will see higher price hikes than plebes like me.

This was nice to see.

(AP) — The Buffalo Bills canceled practice Thursday amid more than 2 feet of snow and opted to handle team meetings virtually. The Bills (10-3) posted pictures on X of their home stadium buried in snow, with its blue seats barely visible in most places.

They're already at a disadvantage practice wise too, having six days off to our nine.

Good thing they're building a new stadium. Also without a roof.

The Bills have an indoor practice facility. The issue is all the roads are closed. A domed stadium would make no difference.

It would make a difference to their having to host a home game at Ford Field every few years, but your point remains.

There's too many damn domed stadiums as is. Maybe I'm more of a traditionalist but it's sad seeing these outdoor stadium teams going indoors now, I believe the Bears are building a new domed stadium too and I think the Titans are going to a dome as well. The elements are part of what makes football fun and unique and it's being stripped away.

Looking at the renderings of the new Bills stadium, it might not have a roof but it has that partial roof similar to Hard Rock Stadium in Miami which will create a new set of problems with shadows. Just another modern looking stadium that has no charm.

Selfishly I care a lot about the in-person experience.

I know I would never have Lions season tickets if it was an outdoor stadium. My interest in being comfortable outweighs my interest in seeing them in-person. But I really love seeing them in-person.

It just sounds miserable to have eight or nine home games, and for two you’re sweating your butt off, two you’re getting wet, and two you’re freezing your butt off.

There’s also the competitive piece to it, Buffalo will never host a Super Bowl. Though I’d love to see them host a Draft.

I went to one Lions' game at Tiger Stadium on a wintry day - absolutely terrible. And to my thinking, you may not even want a half roof on an outdoor football stadium if it's just going to make the wind whip around on the inside more - getting the design right is critical. At Michigan stadium at least you might get the sun shinning on you on a cold day (the one nice thing about the student section being the north end zone!).

Speaking of ticket prices.

I'm surprised the Green Bay game wasn't more expensive. Division game with important playoff implications. And a national TV audience. Buffalo is a big game and it <could be> a Super Bowl preview but an NFC North division game seems more important.

I think being a Thursday game hurts that price point.
