Deleterious Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Klintman and the G-League guys are the only ones listed on the Pistons injury report. Â Quote
Deleterious Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 The 4:30PM injury report now has Duren listed as questionable with a right wrist sprain.  Quote
casimir Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I’m sure it has to do with keeping options open for the cup, but it’s weird to see them on a New York and then to Boston road trip with 3 off days in between game days. Quote
Deleterious Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Yeah, it's related to the greatest tournament in the history of sports. I don't think any of tonight's games were on the schedule at the start of the season. They were added as teams were eliminated from the tournament. Quote
Tigeraholic1 Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 Cade will probably get another triple double. The rest of this game is unwatchable. Quote

The rest of this game is unwatchable. because cade is the only player on this team worth paying. the rest are bit players. what this team needs is another #1 pick in a generational draft. without it, they will be what you see today for the forseeable future. ivey is a nice player, but not a max player. duren hasnt developed beyond andre 2.0. holland and ausar are role players at best. they must, must, MUST tank to get a top player in this draft or else this is what they will be forever: a max 6 seed at best with cade ending his piston career getting traded for second rounders when he's 32 so he can go "chase a ring." 2 Quote

Tanking has done nothing for the Pistons in the past outside of getting extremely lucky with Cade. Three straight #5 picks with them slotting in at 3, 1 and 2 in the drafting order respectively. Ivey, Ausar and Holland. Not one star in that group although Ivey has the potential to be a fringe All Star level player. Tanking and being as terrible as possible is terrible for development and all it gives you is slightly better odds at a very longshot lottery win. Boston and OKC built their teams through a few high draft picks yes but mostly smart asset management and smart drafting. Management needs to put in the work, not put all the eggs into the winning a draft lottery basket. Quote
Deleterious Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Not a good shooter. Solid/OK on defense. Eh, depends on price I guess.  Quote
Shinzaki Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Another deck chair for the Titanic...the Weaver was frustrating ...all that time and all we really got was Cade and maybe Ivey Quote

Deleterious Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 This is extremely odd. His contract doesn't become guaranteed until January 10th. He was a pretty nice trade chip until then for teams that wanted to dump salary. Not much of a reason to cut him like this.  Quote
buddha Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 if we give up anything for kyle kuzma i swear to god i am done with this franchise. 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Kuzma for THJ would be fine. But they didn't need to cut Reed to do that. They already had the space to take Kuzma on.  Quote
Deleterious Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 It better not be for this guy. Bulls Seeking First Round Pick For Nikola Vucevic Quote
Deleterious Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Keith Smith just Tweeted that there is a $20M Luxury Tax disbursement to be paid to teams not paying the luxury tax. If Detroit stays below the salary minimum for more than 1 day, they will not be eligible to receive that payment.  TLDR; Something is happening in the next 24 hours. Could be a trade. Could be as simple as signing a free agent. But they will fill that salary void so they can get that payment.  Quote
