Helped Miami and Golden State, got us a free pick and since they were both minimum contracts (that can be exempted) kept all of our cap flexibility for today.

Thanks.  That makes sense at first I thought it was to appease the SE Michigan chapter of Oklahoma State Alumni Association.

would you have done that deal for duren?

as you've said before, they either need to pay duren or move him soon.

I don't know.  Knecht hasn't been that good and that Laker pick will probably be low.  Probably not.

Looks like this is it for Langdon. I didn't expect much yet still feel underwhelmed, still no ball handler to take the pressure off of Cade. Maybe they pick up somebody during the buyout period but, as is, this deadline was very Weaver-like.

Edit: Or they get Schroder. That's...something even though he's kind of an idiot for his NBA=Modern Slavery nonsensical remark.

Dust is still settling, but this is shaping up to be a very successful trade deadline for Trajan. Gave up nothing and got a backup ballhandler (Schroeder), and young 3-and-D wing with athleticism (Martin), and three 2nd round picks.

Weaver would've given away picks to get another useless draft bust Center.

They're playing with house money right now sitting somewhere between a 6-8 seed when most people had them as a 10th seed or lower to start the year if they were lucky. There was no need to sacrifice the future if the right deal wasn't there. Gain assets, improve on the margins, and see what happens. You probably need a healthy Ivey and access to your picks (after this draft) before you can make a significant trade anyway.

Looks like KJ and a second are re-routed to get Schroeder, so let me rephrase this:

Gave up nothing and got a backup ballhandler and two 2nd round picks. Everything else I said still stands.

This should shut up the be patient and collect assets crowd.  How many useless 2nd rounders does a team need?

Well, the Wizards and Hornets were able to stockpile some 1sts for salary dumps so there were opportunities available.

With that said, Langdon did fine. Got somebody competent to help Cade with ballhandling duties and got some 2nds whatever that means.

Read an interesting stat today.

Luxury tax teams pay into a pool and that pool is distributed to the non-tax paying teams.  It was projected that each team was going to receive between $18 and $19 million this year.  With all the trades made to lower tax bills teams now expect to receive between $11 and $12 million.
