2025 NBA Trade Deadline

I was curious what a star costs.  Is Donovan Mitchell the last star to be traded?  He is the one I am using anyway.

This trade was a two team trade between Utah and Cleveland.  It happened in September of 2022.

Agbaji is nothing much.  But Sexton and Markkanen were fairly decent players when traded.  The year before the trade Sexton averaged 24 PPG in Cleveland and shot 37% from three.  Markkanen was more of a 15 PPG when traded and has since improved quite a bit.

So on top of 2 decent players.  It also included 5 first round picks.  3 of the 5 are straight up Cleveland's picks.  The other 2 are just the right to swap, so if Cleveland remains good, those two have no value.

I don't know why anybody would trade for Fox if the rumored talk of him wanting to go to San Antonio has any validity. That's a ton (whatever his high value would be) to trade for a year and a half rental.

If I am the Spurs I would want to go much bigger than Fox.  They might have two lottery picks this year.  Atlanta owes them a few more picks still, Charlotte owes them a 1st as well.  They have some very tradeable young guys in Vassell, Sochan, Castle, and Johnson.  Package that up for a big time #2 to put next to Victor.

Any particular players you have in mind? Trying to think off the top of my head and I'd imagine it would have to be from a non contending team and there arent alot of elite players out there on teams like that, particularly younger ones. 

Guys like Melo, Hali, Trae and Cade come to mind but I don't think none of them are viewed as true upper echelon type guys. You could maybe say ANT cause I don't think Minnesota is a real contender but I don't think they have any interest in trading him. There's Maxey as well but again I don't know if that is the type of guy you had in mind. Would the Mavs dare trade Luka for a Godfather type offer?

Luka would have to flat out tell Nico that he will not sign with them after next season for them to trade him.

You are right there are not a lot of available guys.  I would want someone that distributes well like Cade or Young.  A lot more teams listen if you are holding the Cooper Flagg ticket.

i'm not a huge lamelo ball fan, but im not sure why charlotte would trade him.  he's pretty much all they have.

He is constantly hurt.  Previous 4 years he played in 51, 75, 36, and 22 games.  He has only played in 31 this year and is currently hurt again.

He is in year one of his extension so they might want to move off of that.  If you could get the Spurs 1st this year and the Hawks unprotected 1st this year, you could have 3 picks in the top 10.  Could be a  nice reset for them.

Holy hell, every single one of those proposals made my eyes bleed. I'm not even a Duren fan but can you imagine giving up him and 5!!! 2nd rounders for a slow 34 year old center who plays on defense? Ivey for a bad contract? Giving Miami real value to take a problem off their hands? What was this guy smoking?

Not even a contender should make idiotic trades like that nevermind a .500 team that probably won't end up at .500.

Even if the writing is on the wall and Luka wanted out, how do you only get old AD and a 1st? Ridiculous and of course it's the Lakers reaping the benefits as they have for like 6 decades always getting these generational talents landing in their lap.

A team like OKC would give you multiple 1st round picks for Luka even if it was just a 1 1/2 year rental.  

Wait until the draft lottery is figured out and approach the top teams then.

A trade to Detroit for Ivey, Holland, cap filler and multiple picks was better than the Laker move.
