Deleterious Posted 16 hours ago Author Posted 16 hours ago The press conference was embarrassing. First he admitted Pelinka and the Mavs owner both laughed when he brought up the trade to them. Then he thanked Pelinka for being so easy to work worth and making the trade so easy. He was fleecing you, of course he made it easy. He said teams were loading up and Luka could go anywhere so they wanted to get ahead of that. Reporter asks if Luka gave them any indication he would not sign an extension. He says, "Well, no" Then he basically said Kidd had no clue. Then left in the middle of the press conference and just left Kidd out there to answer questions. Kidd looked like he beat someone. Quote
Deleterious Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago If you could get Zion would you? Cade stays but anyone else + draft picks are eligible. Would you make the trade. Say it was for Ivey, Holland, Duren, and two unprotected 1st round picks. Quote

If the picks had protections I'd do it just for the upside but without them I think it's too big of a risk for a player with his injury history and build. If he and/or Cade were to have an injury riddled season the first rounder will almost certainly be in the top 10 and likely top 5 depending on the ping pong balls. 1 Quote

Deleterious Posted 11 hours ago Author Posted 11 hours ago Not bad for SA. The Charlotte pick wont convey so it turns into two 2nd round picks. Gave the Bulls pick back. Their 2027 pick should be in the 20's by 2027 plus they keep this years and next years just in case. That Minnesota pick is so far away who cares. They really didn't give up a ton to get Fox. Quote
buddha Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago what are the bulls doing? that's the best you could do? the pick you were going to keep anyway? either lavine's contract is THAT toxic or the bulls have no idea what theyre doing. likely a bit of both considering they couldnt move lavine last year without attaching assets to it. ben9753 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago There’s got to be more to the story. It just makes no sense from any angle. Quote
Deleterious Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago Now it will be a boring 4 days with nothing but very minor deals being done. Quote

I can understand the Mav deciding to move on from Luka if they think they are stuck in not good enough purgatory. The question is whether this deal reflects a strategy that gets them anywhere. Quote
buddha Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago i het moving on from luka, but like del and everyone else has said: "THAT'S all you got for a generational player?" zion is worse, fatter, lazier, and more injury prone and would likely pull three or four first round picks. donovan mitchell and rudy gobert pulled five first round picks/swaps! deaaron fox pulled zak lavine and multiple first and second rounders. the only reason this makes any sense is that luka is a real whiny, fat pos behind the scenes and they think he's in for a procipitous fall. It's not like Davis is chopped liver - but you'd still think there should have been more return to Dallas just based on the age difference. Maybe the '29 1st rounder from the Lakers will end up a lottery pick. We can hope! Edited 8 hours ago by gehringer_2 Quote
Deleterious Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago What is the going rate for a 25 year old that has already made 1st team all nba 5 times? We don't know since nobody like that has ever been traded. Now that one that has been was only shopped to a single team. Madness. Quote
Deleterious Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago I admit to being a bit jealous of San Antonio. Not that I even wanted Fox necessarily. But I am jealous they have someone to put next to Victor and we have nobody for Cade. Quote
