I hope not. They need down time to heal and get mentally reset as well. Light workouts only starting Wednesday and into the weekend.

at this point he can do anything he wants and im not questioning it... hands down the best coach in Lions history

Always humored by these reasons players think 'why' and framing it as not why..."not going to put the blame on."  If it is not why then why mention it?

Gonna be a lot of film-watching this week.    He'll keep 'em loose, but I doubt they call all out until the end of the week.  He knows they need a breather.

Vikings were worse than I thought and hoped.

The Lions are better than some people thought, people that didn't have faith in this group that was within a Reynolds drop essentially of a Superbowl last year and 14-2 with one of the biggest point differentials in league history.

People say that Darnold choked. No, it was AG and crew that made it tough on him and rattled him. This was more about the Lions winning than the Vikings losing.

I noted a couple things from reading a Vikings forum. First, in two parts, some had realized Darnold wasn’t as good as his record/glad to have him exposed today so they don’t drop big $ on him next year and beyond. And secondly that many think Campbell is a dummy.

I think they are right about Darnold, but delusional that JJ will be good right away. And the Campbell appraisal seems based on his verbal enthusiasm and going for it on fourth down. Like there isn’t way more happening or that he’s lucky.

I don’t think they come close to 14 wins next year. Maybe 11, maybe.

Kwesi's inability to draft has to catch up with him at some point. He's like a better version of Martin Mayhew. Kwesi basically traded Jameson to the Lions for Lewis Cine. The Lions also used the pick they got for Hockenson to trade up for Branch.

I’ve learned to be calm when the Lions go for it on 4th down.  The Lions were 2 for 4 on 4th down yesterday, the Vikings 0 for 3 on 4th down. The Vikings were 0 for 4 for red zone TDs, the Lions were 3 for 3. And as someone here mentioned, the fact the Lions really do buck convention contributed to the Vikings falling for the trap on 4th and short late in the game and jumping offside.

who held you on that ball you dropped in the end zone?  and its hard to blame holding when your qb cant make an accurate throw to save his life.

have fun getting worked by the rams.

For the record I thought the refs really didn't flag a lot of stuff and I mostly like that. I also felt like the non-calls were on both sides. I thought there were a number of times holding/PI could (Emphasis here on COULD, not SHOULD) have been called and it wasn't against the Lions. But there were a plenty of non-calls on the Vikings too. I thought I saw a handful of false starts and of course the 00's that weren't called. I saw a few helmet to helmet hits as well and some PI that could have been called on them. There was also the blatant push off on that one play where the Vikings receiver was so wild open.

I don't know, Darnold wasn't very accurate. He missed some pretty easy throws. 19 for 41, or something? His completion % was pretty horrible.

You hoped they’d be better? You might be all alone on that one …

I expected a much closer game, a 4th quarter deciding decision. As it turned out, the 4th quarter was pretty uneventful. But yeah, I predicted a bit of a blowout but it was better than I hoped or predicted.

I'm not sure if this is accurate or not but it looks like a tough road schedule. 7 outdoor games;

On the bright side they'll go into week one of next season not having lost a game on the road since the 2024 NFC Championship Game, or in the regular season since Brad Allen imagined Dan Skipper reporting in Dallas. And they'll be very well battle tested again for the very likely playoff run.

Kind of a lackluster home schedule from an entertainment standpoint. Divisional games are always good and the Steelers will be fun. But Browns, Giants, Bucs again, and having to exist in the same building as Cowboys fans for a couple hours won't have me breaking down the door to get in.

Campbell started building this 4y ago, getting comfortable with the idea of 4 downs, not 3. Teams are now trying to emulate him, but their mindset is not the same. He has said repeatedly, "we are built for this". Same with 'trick plays'. I am convinced. They have go-to plays and if they miss, it does not infect them.  They stay the course.  Winning creates so much motivation to keep that faith in him and the riskiness some call recklessness.

O'Connell failed yesterday wrongly trying to match Campbell. His team is not built for it.

Go Lions!

EDIT ADD: And we have a great offense that makes 4th down tries less risky for us. He plays these odds.

Win the Super Bowl now. I'm not predicting a down 2025 season for the Lions, as they'll be healthier and Holmes will draft pieces. But with the pending loss of both co-ordinators and a tough schedule, there's no time like the present to win two home playoff games and get to the Super Bowl.

A lot of that was due to the pressure the Lions put in his face early and often. They never let him get comfortable and he got rattled seeing ghosts and missed some easy throws as a result.
