Deleterious Posted January 14 Author Posted January 14 Not sure using exactly what they want as your threat is a good idea. Pretty sure his first game back is supposed to be Friday. Quote

I thought I recall something coming up about that with the Lillard stuff. And if so, how is Butler not guilty of it? Quote

IDK -I guess a rule like that would make sense after all the guys that have already blown up their teams, but there's an old truism in contract law that it's close to pointless to try to force an artist to do what they don't want to do and basketball players are pretty close to that. 🤷♂️ I guess if you go back to the old reserve clause days in baseball players were pretty powerless to do anything but shut-up and play or they couldn't play anywhere, Quote

So I guess you can't decide where you want to play unless your name is LeBron? Still, based on what was stated here, I don't it's clear it applies to Butler - he's just saying he wants out, he's not demanding to go to a particular team - so far as has been reported. There were reports of him telling teams not to trade for him and he would only go to Phoenix. His agent denies it so who knows what is or isn't true. Quote

RandyMarsh Posted Thursday at 03:24 PM Posted Thursday at 03:24 PM (edited) This is why I say every NBA player of stature has a no trade clause in their contract whether it's official or not. Cause any team that is willing to trade for an All Star caliber player is going to make sure the guy won't sit out and demand a trade when he gets here. Essentially meaning the player can pick and choose where he wants to play whether it's written into the contract or not. Edited Thursday at 03:24 PM by RandyMarsh Quote

Essentially meaning the player can pick and choose where he wants to play whether it's written into the contract or not. Teams have all the power though because its almost impossible for a player to sit out. Butler has a player option next year. He can't sit out this year and then decline it and become a free agent. Because he sat out the years on his contract do not move forward. When he comes back he would still have a year left on his Miami deal. Players can be loud and make teams uncomfortable. But at the end of the day the team has all the power with a player already under contract. Quote

Deleterious Posted Thursday at 04:19 PM Author Posted Thursday at 04:19 PM Roughly middle of the season, so my early award winners. MVP - SGA ROY - Probably Yves Missi. Haven't watched a lot of rookies to be honest. 6MOY - De'Andre Hunter with Pritchard a very distant second IMO. MIP - No clue. Cade or Mobley but some feel high picks shouldn't be eligible for this. I don't really care. COY - Atkinson. But Mosley, Jennings, or Udoka are fine as well. DPOY - Daniels. Stop overvaluing bigs on defense. Quote
