gehringer_2 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 First impression would be: Danielson seems like a big ask to take on that contract for a guy who hasn't made an all-star team. Quote

That's a no then. Who the hell wants to take on Copp or Chairot's contracts unless you're rebuilding and you get an extra draft pick attached to take such dog**** contracts. Quote

lordstanley Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 (edited) Wings off to a flying start! Kane tap-in makes it 4-0 just 7:54 into the game. Edited January 12 by lordstanley Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted January 12 Posted January 12 If they miss the playoffs by 2 points or less, when EVERYONE knew they needed a new coach, except Yzerman..... Should have made the move at least 2 weeks earlier. We all saw it and seeing how they are playing under the Toddfather, we were right. Quote
lordstanley Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 (edited) 6-0! Larkin with his 2nd of the game, his 19th of the season, his 7th in 6 games 7 Wings have 2 points today: Larkin, Kane, Tarsenko, Raymond, Johansson, Seider and Gustafsson. Edited January 12 by lordstanley Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted January 12 Posted January 12 That Seattle 2nd goal was not good. Glad it's 6-2. Left him all alone. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 We are starting (finally) to see the kind of surgical offense that bringing Debrincat and Kane together with Larkin was supposed to produce, and of course Raymond is becoming as slick as any of them. McLellan nailed it in the pre-game interview though - now that they've moved forward the the trick is not slipping back. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 two points behind Columbus with a game in hand, three points behind Boston with 3 games in hand. Quote

Yep, right in the thick of things. And just 3 points out of 3rd place in the Atlantic, albeit having played two more games than Tampa. Quote
buddha Posted January 12 Posted January 12 now this is more like it! all of us who trashed yzerman - me included - maybe we need to tske a step back? i dont really believe that for this offseason (which was awful), but maybe the idea of bringing in vets like chairot, compher, copp to play with young draftees was the right choice after all? and for those of us who clamor for larianov or fedorov or some new hot coaching prospect, maybe all they needed was a little old fashioned recycled hockey coach speak and not some analytical based new hotness? interesting run. hope they can keep it up. 1 Quote

I think Yzerman still deserves a lot of criticism for not recognizing that it wasn't working earlier. We all saw it. Team was lethargic and passive and uninspired. We saw it a long time ago. Took way too long to make the move, regardless of who it was, it didn't need to be LaLonde. Quote
oblong Posted January 13 Posted January 13 "just play ****ing hockey" should become a rallying cry. I reporter heard him say that in one of the first practices. Quote

LaLonde had these guys playing not to lose and we all know that doesn't work. The Anti-Dan Campbell. Quote
oblong Posted January 13 Posted January 13 I don't post in here often because everybody here says what needs to be said but I read it all and I've watched at least some of nearly every game this year and have been to 2 already (Boston and Montreal). Hoping to go tomorrow. Not just because they've won but their play the last 2 weeks has been noticably different. Quote
slothfacekilla Posted January 13 Posted January 13 I hope the Toddfather keeps playing Johansson even when Petry is healthy. Quote

slothfacekilla Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Might as well just bury him in the press box, he isn't making much money after the double retention and it is the last year of his deal thankfully Quote
