CMRivdogs Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I just asked my Congress Critter the same basic question. Why did he vote to cut Medicaid while cutting taxes for billionaires. Especially considering a larger number of constituents live in Virginia's Northern Neck. The Northern Neck is the eastern portion of the state between the Potomac and the Rappahannock Rivers. Culturally it's similar to the Thumb in Michigan. An area that relies heavily on farming and subsidies like Medicaid. That's essentially his back yard. I don't expect to hear from him Quote

TJ Rollercoaster Posted February 27 Posted February 27 This article is about the state legislature, but ..... https://www.freep.com/story/news/politics/2025/02/25/state-rep-wants-to-overturn-gay-marriage/80277659007/ A state representative on Tuesday introduced a resolution urging the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn its 2015 decision making same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states. In a brief news conference after the House session, state Rep. Josh Schriver, R-Oxford, said the high court's decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, “defaced the definition of marriage, undermined our God-given rights, increased persecution of Christians and confused the American family structure.” Quote

Hongbit Posted Thursday at 04:38 PM Posted Thursday at 04:38 PM (edited) I feel a bit for our Senators, who by use of the word “Congress”, automatically get lumped together with the hundreds of unprofessional, unqualified, unproductive Representatives. The Senate has plenty of issues but it’s miles ahead of the House when it comes to competence and respectability. Edited Thursday at 04:39 PM by Hongbit Quote
romad1 Posted Thursday at 05:00 PM Posted Thursday at 05:00 PM (edited) Listening to The Bulwark just now and Tim Miller had a woman on from the org "Run for Something" and their take was that the Dems should recruit people for every open election across and up and down the ballots because this electorate will vote for any Dem because 2026 will be a massive wave. Remember who won the primary when Ted McCotter lost his job. Just a weirdo who raised reindeer. Be the weirdo... Events - Run For Something Edited Thursday at 05:01 PM by romad1 Quote
