If Canada embargoed oil to the US gasoline would certainly go to over $5/gal probably more. The price of Jet Fuel would go up along with airline tickets. And trucking everything would cost more. In SE MI we'd stay warm because most heating here is nat gas, which is mostly domestic, but up North they use fuel oil a fair amount.

And all for absolutely no reason. Trump is not only an idiot, he's an idiot who thinks in 19th century terms. It's not even to any advantage to the US for Canada to part of it - absolutely none. It's pure Napoleonic thinking from an age that should be dead an buried.

We provide our own natural gas? That's a relief. But if gas goes up, everything in the stores goes up. At least, that's their excuse when they jack up prices. But it's funny, when fuel prices go down, prices don't drop.

A store near my barber has a bunch of random stuff and 2 months ago i stopped in after a haircut and I spotted a 4 pack of CBS.   I snatched it up but am waiting for the right time. about 18 months ago I did a favor for a friend and she was at total wine and got me 12 bottles of different KBS flavors.  Totally unnecessary but grateful.  I thought it would last me years.

I think Trump is infantilized at least in part because he is so heavily identified with the MAGA faithful, who are definitely infantilized because of their modest level of their circumstances.

IOW, when you hammer Trump, you are by extension hammering the red hats. That’s why they are so snowflakey when it happens. They take it as a personal shot at them.

But it's not just gas you would have to afford. How about bread at $7 a loaf, if you can get it? And many other food products that deported workers provide? There very well could be huge food shortages. Even to those of us who think we could afford it.
