We all knew this was coming.

We talked about it on the old board. Now with the guardrails down he can follow through on it.

How does Trump drag along the 70+% of sentient adults who want nothing to do with quitting NATO, without them kicking and screaming and creating a fuss on a non-stop basis? Because there is no way the regime will allow constant noisy yammering opposing it in the press, on social media, or on the streets indefinitely. What are the most logical ways they can put a stop to something like that?

Same way they always do.  Try to portray the press as fake news, keep pounding on how much taxpayer money is spent on both NATO and UN.  Maybe even make up some bogus scandal about NATO covering human trafficking or the UN failing to stop Fentanyl from crossing the globe.

This is also what Zelensky was resisting on Friday.  The humiliation he was trying to impose.

In general, way too many people underestimate how much pride is a motivator for other countries. And overestimate how much Trump's bullying tactics would cause others to merely fold and bend to his will.

The media is complicit and in the bag for Trump/Putin.

In the above article the NYT referred to the Governor of Maine as "Ms. Mills" and listed her age.

The next time the NYT refers to the President as Mr. Trump, 78 will be the first time.

I don't know if anyone posted this here yet or over in the investment thread. But the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank is now projecting negative GDP growth for Q1. I would presume this would have to be because of Trump's tariffs and the higher inflationary pressure that comes with them. Due to concerns around Trump's tariffs, increasing Trumpflation, and the volatility of his economic policies, companies may have been pulling ahead on a lot of purchase orders. With the pull ahead of orders and the manufacturing that goes along with it, companies, I would presume, are trying to get ahead of the tariffs. Which means we'll see a dramatic slowdown afterwards. Is this an unfair assessment?

I wish they were only $5.59 here. Larges are $7.99/dozen at Kroger/Mariano's here.

That's because people typically regard other countries in the way they wish those countries were, rather than as they are.

'Appears'? Methinks Lisa needs a trip to the Optometrist

I was thinking of mentioning that myself, but it would have clashed with the "flying monkeys" bit.

Dad out in very Republican Oceana County reports that his congressman had a town hall and was a no show.  Sent his staff to hear from a very angry group of constituents.   The residents were furious that he didn't show and demanded to know if the congressman even cares how angry they were.   The after-church coffee clatch was very much a rage session.

I got them for $4.99 Demoulas Market Basket.  That's a big jump over last week's $3.49.

It's just that one store that has lower prices for everything all the time.  The quality is of food is fine.  The employees are great.  The downside is it's really crowded, but the total cost is at least 30% less than any other market in the area.

It honestly could be a geographical thing too... Midwest flocks have been hit pretty hard by bird flu, NE may have access to better poultry markets for imports, etc.

Is it too early to foresee foreign countries boycotting the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles with how our co-presidents are treating foreign policy?

I also look forward to people saying things like "save some for John and me" instead of "save some for John and I."
