This will be concomitant with a ban on European travel by Americans. Could never happen? Tell me why it can’t. Quote

Yeah, the 30% who were too busy to vote allowed democracy to be destroyed by MAGA. I wonder what had them too busy? The Price is Right, followed by The View? Quote

A heads up, they're going to destroy the entire economy. Perfect time for the rich to buy everything up for pennies on the dollar. 2 classes in America, the ultra-rich and the masses in poverty. So, eat the rich? 😅 Quote

Plus, by breaking the government they can restore the services people demand. Of course the restored services will be privatized, be more expensive due to profit, have higher fraud because the contracts will be structured on service delivery numbers, and pay the workers delivering the services less. It's Russia in the 90's. Hopefully, we won't get even more Germany in the 30's to go with it. 1 2 Quote

It's Russia in the 90's. Hopefully, we won't get even more Germany in the 30's to go with it. Or worse, Germany in the '40s. Ours will also become a bribe- and kickback-based economy, in which companies doing business with the Trump regime, or even we the taxpaying suckers, will have to pay someone a little sumpin' sumpin' for things like getting on the schedule in the first place, getting a place on some wait list, having someone actually show up for the job after we contract for it, maybe even to receive our income tax refund check at all. Won't that be a hoot. We are already seeing the beginnings of this as Republican congressmen engage in special pleading to protect government assets in their particular districts from being gutted. Tigermojo Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Scary stuff. Extreme right and left are both equally bad and often lead straight to each other. How the Republican war on empathy turned America into a playground for sociopaths | Opinion 1 Quote

chasfh Posted March 30 Posted March 30 How about we guess at a few more Executive Orders? EO mandating all federal elections, starting with the 2026 midterms, be administered by the federal government and not the states, under a newly constituted federal agency named along the lines of the National Elections Administration. EO decreeing that all foreign national students from a list of certain countries be immediate expelled from universities that receive federal funds. EO designating God Bless America as an official second national anthem. Come on, everyone, join in! It’s so super fun! 💩 Quote
oblong Posted March 30 Posted March 30 The national anthem will be that horrible Lee greenwood song Quote

chasfh Posted March 30 Posted March 30 You do see how this works, right? First Trump "jokes" about gunning for a third term, then congressmen submit bills to allow Trump and only Trump to enjoy a third term, then Trump starts saying he's serious about a third term, then the pundit class seriously and earnestly discuss the pros and cons of Trump enjoying a third term, and by the time the courts bulldoze the Constitution it becomes clear that Trump will be installed for his third term, the American people simply shrug and say, well, everyone did say he would serve a third term, it's not like we didn't know it was going to happen. Much of the working class can not afford to invest, so they are not affected as much by a stock crash. I think what the rich look for is middle class investors panicking and getting out of the market as it crashes. That's where the wealthy investors clean up. I don't that is their primary goal though. Their goals are deregulation, gutting the government and privatizing everything. Edited March 30 by Tiger337 Quote

chasfh Posted March 30 Posted March 30 (edited) By a couple weeks from now, that percent of Republicans saying using Signal to discuss military plans will be at least 60%, a new horror will be dominating the news cycle, and everybody will be like, "what's 'Signalgate'"?
