How long does China string him out here?

It's an interesting game of chicken. Theoretically, with manufactured goods, the buying country should have more leverage because they have more options - they can use a different product, they can go without, they can try to build it themselves. OTOH, the producer is kind of stuck, if he cant sell his product his investment is wasted and his people are unemployed. Though the reality is there are still a lot of ways around those tariffs exactly because the US is trying to target to target China more exclusively, which leaves a million ways to trans-ship material around the tariffs.

You’re sounding like you think ANYONE in this administration, in particular the orange man, has an actual game plan…. Or is possibly able to win a game of chicken with China.

I just don’t think either supposition is true.

I asked ChatGPT for a Madison reaction to Federal Judges accepting "gifts". I got this reply

  Quote

“Ah. Not guardians of the Constitution — merely its auctioneers.”

This was the response from Jefferson

  Quote

“When the arbiters of justice accept the gilded bribe beneath the false name of ‘gift,’ the decay of the Republic is not impending — it is present. I have ever feared the rise of a judicial aristocracy; I did not foresee it would come equipped with luxury retreats and benefactors of convenience.”

Sad, but very possible. I think Trump is wanting to be wanted by the International Criminal Court like his buddies Vlad and Bibi.

2 core MAGA needs are hurting people, but even more, enjoying the distress normals experience about those other people being hurt. this case is perfect MAGA. a guy guilty of being brown with tattoos sent to a slave prison, and anyone who is a normal is of course upset about it. "And he has an autistic child?" "YES!" MAGA cannot get enough of this.

So they can claim we have Trump Derangement Syndrome when we react, which, really, when you think about it, is really nothing more than Trump does something deranged and we happen to notice it.

Yeah, people weighing in and speculating about the details of what this administration is doing as though everything is normal and business as usual is really grating on me.

They’ll just reply it’s not about Congress making a law.

Obviously, having a supermajority in America and an even greater supermajority in Congress is not enough. Orthodoxy and hegemony must be enforced, and the only way that can happen is if heads roll.

The Religious Test Clause states that there be no religious test ever be required for any office or public trust in the US.
One would assume, in normal times, that includes all government offices as well.
https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/article-6/clause-3/

In fact several states refused to vote in favor of the original constitution unless there was a Freedom of Religion amendment. Freedom of religion has been interpreted as including non religious beliefs.

We're becoming too hopeless here.  The activists are driving Musk out.  Who or what can we go after next?  I know it can't be psycho Trump, but there are other options which can hurt him.

I’m not hopeless, but I am a hopeful pessimist.
