The top notch headhunter agency brought in to find staff for Hegseth are doing their best to find competent executives who are also children of alcoholic parents and were the avatars of codependency for their families.

it just his typical sarcasm. He's actually pillorying the whole Christian ethic here, the subtext argument is clearly that any real Christian attitude of  love and forgiveness is actually ridiculous and foolishly naive.

Of course it doesn't matter to his fans in the Christian right, who have already wandered so far to support him they won't see it.

Maybe the Christian right is simply confused that he’s offering up Easter greeting to the enemy anyway. They’re not real big on sarcasm or nuance or intelligence, after all.
