mtutiger Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Just now, Tigeraholic1 said: I am trying to keep up. Are we pissed that Mullin was calling out the hypocrisy or that Pete sailed through today or just both? I wouldn't say I'm pissed about anything really. I just think Markwayne's argument is really idiotic and, frankly, should be a little insulting to those of us in our professional and personal lives who do the right things. Quote
pfife Posted January 15 Posted January 15 remember that one jabroni congrassman a few years back that spilled the beans about the unified reich coke parties? markwayne flying close to the sun Quote
mtutiger Posted January 15 Posted January 15 On the personal lives front, it's particularly wild to see Markwayne explaining away Pete's marital infidelity given how much I heard about "moral relativism" from my conservative family members growing up. Ephesians 5:25 is for the birds apparently lol Quote

Go work at a GM, Ford plant and see the dope smoking and drinking, kill popping that happens. There are hundreds of divorce lawyers in every city. Politicians are human too. I've obvs had a ton of fights on here over the years but I fought really bad with shabba on that one we were going to murder each other but it's ok b/c as markwayne would say everyone murders 1 Quote

Pete Hegseth, who is neither qualified for the job and who has a documented history of drug and alcohol abuse, should be confirmed because of things that may happen at GM and Ford plants? Just really really unconvincing stuff.... Edited January 15 by mtutiger Quote
pfife Posted January 15 Posted January 15 (edited) In the history of this forum, the one thing we always all agreed on regardless of our political views.... it was a hammer of logic... was that our leaders and elected officials were by default held to higher standards than regular joes. The only ones that don't understand that are maga probably because they know their leaders don't meet that standard markwayne and magholicommunitynote1 have already admitted it tonight Edited January 15 by pfife Quote

It was just a smear campaign that had no legs. I was using those examples of everyday people who make mistakes. It’s not condemnation just in observation. Quote

Along with his own comments on his drinking, which alludes to this being a real issue for him (via NYT): In an interview on Megyn Kelly’s SiriusXM show last month, Mr. Hegseth acknowledged concerns about his drinking had put his nomination at risk. He promised then that there “won’t be a drop of alcohol on my lips” if he is confirmed. I don't have any reason to doubt any of it. Although the ultimate disqualification is his lack of experience and resume to run the Pentagon. Given that he apparently hasn't run a damn thing in his life. The questions of his demons, not mention the martial infidelity and sexual assault allegations, are just extra kindling on the fire Edited January 15 by mtutiger Quote
