Yep, other folks too like waitstaff, gig workes etc.

I mean the waitresses will be harassed but the cops' lives will be endangered.

But that's ok, eggs were very, very expensive during the Biden ruinous tyranny.

Seems pretty weak for an incoming POTUS

same thing happened in his first term. Trump is apparently a lot more attractive as a candidate than as the office holder.

It can only go down from here. He's sure to lose whatever soft base he had voting for him. Especially if the price of eggs stay high and gas goes up again this Summer

Well, the Arab Americans that voted for him already got their pay off today.

Guess we’ll see if he keeps those folks when immigration comes to the forefront.

We'll also see how long the peace actually lasts...

So of course the irony for Trump and the car market is that the more EV's get sold the more it depresses the price of gasoline! :classic_biggrin:

You would think with Musk in charge (gotta get something for his $$$) he'd be pushing Teslas, all other brands might get tariffed. It might still reduce gas prices but play havoc with the drill baby drill promise

First time I've looked at 538 (or any polling) since the election... Just on how corporate America and the media has been acting in the runup to his inauguration, you would expect his number to be at least 10 points higher

My hot take (which really isn't that hot honestly, but is treated like one these days) is that he was elected in spite of his flaws (not because of them), and that it is all primarily about the economy and inflation. Yet his fans, the media and Trump's team, for differing reasons, are all incentivized to look toward culture wars to explain it all away.

Yikes

Back in October, around the time of the VP debate, I was at a company golf function and the subject of politics came up.... generally do more listening than talking when politics come up at work, but I engaged a bit more this time. My golf cart partner didn't like Trump but also was pretty skeptical that he would pursue a lot of what he claimed he would do, or that he would ultimately be successful (ie. would face opposition within his own party on certain issues). Ukraine was an issue specifically identified in this exchange.

I have no idea who he ultimately pulled the lever for, but regardless of which way he pulled the lever, a big part of both of Trump's wins has been the idea that he wouldn't attempt to do a lot of what he said he was going to do. And with Ukraine, he has transparently been in favor of leaving them out to dry. He has never really hid the ball, dating back to when he was President in 2020; this is part of who he is.

None of this should be surprising. He advertised it, and this action by Mike Johnson is him acting out on that promise by removing an obstacle (ie. a Pro-Ukrainian GOP Chairman)

Sounds like Trumps envoy put enough pressure on Netanyahu to agree to the cease fire.  As MTUtiger mentioned, let’s see how long it lasts though.

One of Donald "Man of the People" Trump's supporters on... *checks notes* Barry Weiss' podcast talking about... *checks notes* how terrible it is that people don't just drop at their feet upon his passing.

Another soulless husk of a human being.... sensing a pattern here.

Already derailed......

That's what I get for giving Trump some props, should have waited a day.  That said, I just searched and it seems like everyone says it's still on, just that israel is delaying right now. (Israel delaying has been Bidens issue for 6 months)

The far right of his coalition is holding it up. They want Hamas eliminated not a ceasefire.
