This might be bull****, with it being Trump, it probably is, but I wouldn't be surprised if this also was an extremely old federal ban which no longer is truly in affect based on how courts have ruled over the last 60-70 years, making this nothing but more paperwork that needs to be checked at the federal level and by eliminating it, it does nothing in terms of reverting back to the pre-civil rights era, but does eliminate worthless paperwork. My thought also - another thing to get people all riled up where they can come back and say "see you were wrong, we didn't change anything." Still, there is a certain level of symbolism to leaving stuff like that in place - it's still an erasure of history in a way. Quote

Yes there was no reason to erase something like this, other than to show how they really feel about people of color. It might not effect much, but it’s a horrible look regardless. Quote

Although she was a weak candidate, the one thng I liked about Harris was how accurately and bluntly she exposed all of his insecurities and caused him to melt down in their one debate. We've needed more of that all along. Quote

He signs a contract with the minor league club in Montreal, a farm team for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Photo: Bettmann Archive/Getty Images The U.S. Department of Defense has removed a webpage featuring baseball and civil rights pioneer Jackie Robinson, who served in the Army during World War II and segregation. Why it matters: The removal of Robinson's Army history comes amid a massive purge of articles about soldiers of color following President Trump's executive order ending federal diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. The big picture: An Axios review found that some military websites, with several broken URLs now labeled "DEI," have erased information about Native American Code Talkers and Mexican American Medal of Honor recipients. The move comes after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth declared that "DEI is dead." Quote

Hongbit Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Not sure if this has been shared on not but this is absolutely horrible. This is the type of behavior you’d expect in 3rd world dictatorship. Quote

I went most of my life with the feeling that government had no effect on me whatsoever. I only paid attention because I am curious person and wanted to be aware of what was going on, but I really didn't care that much. I can understand why someone who is not curious would be turned off by politics which doesn't affect them. I would expect more people to care if someone took away their rights away, but they would still have to be convinced that there was a voting option which actually cared about them. I don't think that has happened for a while. Quote

The problem is there are lot of people that really are unaffected and there is no desperation. My two nephews don't vote and are not gettig any rights taken away since they are straight white American males working in the private sector. Both tell me that politics is stupid and a waste of time. They also both know that Trump is a joke, but they just don't care. I don't know if the wife of one of nephews voted. At one point, she sad she wasn't voting because Biden was too old an senile and she felt sorry for him. If she did eventually vote, it was for Harris. My niece didn't vote because she knows nothing about politics. She thinks Trump is nasty. I think she can be reached. Edited March 20 by Tiger337 Quote
