Whatever happened to her?  I find old screenshots on my photos memory app from early 2017… and damn. Lotta references to people I thought at the time were on to something.  Didn’t she say someone was going to be executed?  Like John Roberts or something.

The most... charitable explanation (not charitable in anyway) is that he may be looking to treat FEMA like a protection racket, where people have to bend to his will in some way to get what they want out of the feds when a disaster hits.

But stepping back for a minute, how does that make us, collectively, any better off as a country? Does letting California burn uncontrollably,  or (hypothetical scenarios) leaving earthquake damage in Washington or damage from a tornado striking the Chicago suburbs unmanaged, do these things like this help our country in anyway? Do they help the economy, do they make us great again?

Americans in different parts of the country approach politics differently and disagree on a lot. It's the way it's always been and the way it probably always will be. But when disaster strikes, the partisan **** shouldn't be a factor at all. We learned this with NC.... politicizing these disasters does nothing to help people on the ground. And it only divides us.

The red hats think it will never happen to them.  It’s always someone else’s concern, until it isn’t. And to those who were affected, they’ll say “well they weren’t doing nothing anyway”. 
 

thats the core difference between the new GOP and Dems. One side understands you need to help people sometimes regardless of who they are. How many times did we see Biden in Florida after some catastrophe?  Weather. That condo that collapsed.  I saw him sit next to Ron Desantis, when he was the presumptive favorite to run against him, and grab his hand and say “you will get what you need from us”. 
 

the GOP today thinks empathy means weakness.  In reality they are weak men hiding behind fake toughness. Your camo and guns and trucks don’t make you tough. You are weak.

Maybe it's because I'm a civil engineer, but I always remember the Surfside condo collapse.... not even a natural disaster, just a building that for a variety of possible explanations just collapsed. Literally something that could happen anywhere in the United States.

FEMA needs to be there in all of these cases regardless of politics.
