It’s about control. I sat with a group women last night that are in their mid 20's. They all had abortions within the last 3-4 years many from different ethnicities. They were speaking to how terrible they felt for having abortions and wish they would have been educated on all of the adoption roads they could have used. Powerful stuff Quote

There are always people at these marches who stand up for women like them. I respect that and do feel laws go too far when the mother is in distress and would vote to change those laws to protect the mother if given the opportunity. Edited January 24 by Tigeraholic1 Quote

Its not like anyone was warned what would happen if we removed the doddering but still moderate and certainly better than replacement level Dem president with a random noise generating corruption factory that enabled the worst, most antiscientific impulses of the ignorami of the fringe of the Right Wing, fueled by the unassailable media positioning of the kleptocrats. Ya gonna get ignorance and theocracy trying to slip stream behind the kleptocrats and vice versa. 1 Quote

I keep awaiting some sort of indication that this government is aware of the price of eggs or the indication that bird flu is a serious problem, but everything they've done this far has suggested that they don't care and has gone in the direction of making government less transparent about bird flu in general. CNN: Trump administration directs federal health agencies to pause communications They literally stopped the CDC from sharing updated information and communications on bird flu with medical providers and hospitals. Meanwhile, antivax HHS Director Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is out promoting raw milk and is looking to hire the CEO of a raw milk company in California who's company has been fined because they've found listeria, salmonella, and other contaminants in his raw milk and at his facilities. And oh by the way, bird flu is transmissible in raw milk because it remains unpasteurized. This is what the American people wanted though. Quote

mtutiger Posted January 24 Posted January 24 It goes without saying that commodity prices are taken as an average for a reason. Also, the Aldi near our house has them going about 10 cents more expensive than when I was there on Sunday, so.... lol Quote

mtutiger Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Trump's fascination with AI has been interesting to watch, particularly for a guy that has long run as a guy preoccupied (whether genuine or not) on the onshoring of American jobs. Quote

I have no idea what the right approach to AI should be. Regulate it like Europe, and you're just confining yourself to a future where China leaves you in the dust. Open it up, and we might all be living in an AI hellscape in a few years. Quote

I totally get what you mean, but getting people to tune out so they can freely crime? That’s what their goal is. Quote

One of the detainees is a U.S. military veteran who suffered the indignity of having the legitimacy of his military documentation questioned. This egregious act is in plain violation of the Fourth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees ‘the right of the people be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures….’ “Newark will not stand by idly while people are being unlawfully terrorized. I will be holding a press conference in alliance with partners ready and willing to defend and protect civil and human rights. Details to come.” This was always the thing with the ICE Raids - they will inevitably end up with arrests of legal individuals and actual citizens Being able to detain citizens in a raid without people caring is what they’re … ahem … shooting for. Not only will this not be the last, it will probably happen again today. Quote

Ironically—or perhaps not—the higher egg prices go and the more it gets reported on, the higher retailers and distributors can continue to raise egg prices, since news about it psychologically prepares us for that very thing. I hypothesized the same thing years ago when I would see this happening with gasoline. I would bet there even a name in Psychology for this phenomenon, and that someone here knows what it is.
