Also, “African Americans”? Too woke a phrase. I’m sure Trump can come up with another word for them and mandate its use via some proclamation. Quote

It's about Lt Col Charity Adams, the first African American woman to command overseas during WWII. The mission involved leading the 6888 Central Postal Directory in England during WWII. I wonder how many of this kind of movie ideas the Trump administration will successfully thwart, using harassment and threats of investigations and IRS audits of studios and production companies? That would be one way to MAGAtize Hollywood. Quote

Right now you are saying that 5% of the work force is clearly under compensated. So say you grant them citizenship. The cost to employ rises just by giving them competitive wages then you add the cost of healthcare and everything that goes with that. This directly will affect the cost of goods. That’s why I equate it to slavey in the sense they can not advocate for themselves. I am sorry they broke the laws coming here but here we are. First off, as I've said before I want these people to be paid fair market, livable wages. If you're worried about undocumented people affecting the cost of goods and services were they to be paid more, a living wage, are you saying you don't want any American citizens who take these jobs to be paid livable wages either? Furthermore, we already have an estimated labor shortage of 1.7 million workers. So if we deport an additional, estimated, 8.3 million undocumented workers on top of that we're at an estimated nearly 10 million worker shortage. How do we make up that deficit because there aren't enough American workers to make it up right now or seemingly in the future. So you don't want people to be paid at livable wages because of cost concerns, and you don't want undocumented people doing these jobs either at any wage because they came here illegally. So who exactly is going to fill these jobs? Someone has to, the need for them isn't just going to disappear. Do you want and/or expect American citizens to work below market value pay and do these jobs? Edited Sunday at 03:45 PM by Mr.TaterSalad 1 Quote

The other piece is that when people hide behind their service to defend themselves, by extension, they are professing to speak for all service members and veterans. Which they don't. The Tuskegee Airman thing is a good example... Holic sits there and says NBD, yet I've seen at least two people in my FB feed who are vets (who otherwise don't talk about politics) pipe off about this in particular and what a crappy move it is. It's anecdotal, but not every vet feels like he does Edited Sunday at 04:04 PM by mtutiger Quote

romad1 Posted Sunday at 06:05 PM Posted Sunday at 06:05 PM Soldiers are going to miss the A10 for close air support. I think the Air Force is probably also going to miss it. But they would much rather move onto 6th gen fighters. The cuts to the contractor workforce are going to hurt a lot of marginal productive types and accelerate retirements. Looks like the easiest answer would be to cut all the non-whites because nobody is looking out for their interests in Government these days. https://bsky.app/profile/michaelstahlke.bsky.social/post/3lgmnpokhi226 Quote
