I'm just amazed at how people lies to themselves over and over and over about this, that he wouldn't do it.

Just an all-time own goal by Wall Street and non-tech corporate America

If Donny is so worried about drugs coming into the country, he should put that tarriff money into substance abuse rehabs. Stop the market for these drugs and that would stop the smuggling on the drugs into our country. Plus, it was be good politics.

Donald inherited a booming Obama economy and ran it into the ground. This time, he took a Biden economy that was recovering from the Trump mishandling of the covid virus and was progressing perfectly. And he'll put the entire world into a major recession.

Trumpflation will be in full effect.

I promise you that it will be not only things from other countries rising in cost. Things made in the United States will also increase to prices to fill the void in price between them and foreign goods. Obviously.

Book it.

It will be a triple whammy. Food is going up because there will be no field workers, electronics, clothing and all kinds of small mechanicals up because they come from China, housing up because wood and fuel from Canada, all service entry level wages will be driven up if undocumenteds are actually removed from the work force, and of course as noted, all domestic manufactures will raise prices to meet the reduced competition.

No one should be surprised. Importing goods from overseas and suppressing US wages have been cornerstones of inflation control economic policy since Reagan. And they work. Remove them and we are going to get inflation. I'm on board for entry level wages being forced up, not so much any of the rest of it!

The Federal Government is not a business and should not be run like a business. Especially by someone with a history of many bankruptcies and underlings who can best be defined as reality show losers.

And if they go after Social Security and Medicare as well as Medicaid they're going to need a big army to hold back a bunch of folks with nothing left to lose.

Musk's minions have gained access to the treasury, and thus access to all of our personal info-including SSNs.

What could possibly go wrong?

While I don't know a lot of Canadians, those I do know are already boycotting US made products. And some provinces are planning on banning sales of certain products. One that I've heard of is that liquor stores are planning to refuse to sell products from red states specifically.

We'll see what happens when it happens, I guess.

Here's Nova Scotia's Premier and their response to Trump's tariffs

If Ontario and Quebec do anything remotely like this, that's gonna bite really hard in New York and Michigan

British Columbia has announced they will not see alcohol from red states. I love targeting red states.

And New England as well.

The scope of the problem and this entire war on fentanyl is a fabrication.  It being a national epidemic has been made up.  It’s not destroying the fabric of our society that these dummies want us to believe.  Yes, it’s an issue but it’s a small one that affects a minuscule amount of our population.  Unlike this ridiculous tariff solution to this made up problem that will impact 100% of the country.

if Canada shuts down oil imports to the US it might be hard for the midwest to make up that supply from anywhere else very quickly. I don't know how long they could hold out before they had to blink, but it might be longer than we could. Refineries that would be scrambling for supply would be the Marathon in Det, the ex-Sun refinery in Toledo, Koch and Marathon in Minneapolis, Probably Husky in Toledo was well, and probably the BP and Exxon refineries near Chicago.
