This ****upery from Trump is next level. Roughly 10 days in and it's shaping up to be such a monumental disaster. The only thing I wonder is if the economy begins to tank, does he back out of everything and kick out Elon, or does he see this through. Wen it comes to the money, it’s not about our economy. It was never about our economy. It is always about his net worth. They control all the money we paid in. Now it’s theirs, unless/until someone can stop them, someone like the courts, the civil service, or (*giggle*) Congress. Edited Monday at 01:55 PM by chasfh Quote

I am as angry as you are about everything happening, but if we get through this, it involves changing hearts and minds Changing their hearts would require them changing their minds, meaning, admitting they were wrong all along. Really tall order, and I would guess that practically no one is close to admitting they’re wrong yet. Quote
RatkoVarda Posted Monday at 01:47 PM Posted Monday at 01:47 PM I've seen a bunch of people say that Dems can grind Congress to a crawl if they wanted. Others say they cannot as MAGA controls both houses. I don't know enough about Robert's Rules of Order to say who is correct. I did see idiot Tommy Tuberville (who thought the 3 branches of the US government were the Senate, the House and POTUS) derail 100s of DOD appointments for months on end. What I do not see is Dems EVEN TRYING to slow down the oligarchs. Quote

They can lose everything because of his policies and will just blame it on the woke left. They don’t have the brainpower and are easily controlled. It’s not that they don’t have the brainpower, or more exactly, never had the brainpower. They weren’t educated properly. That’s the real problem. No history, no civics, nothing requiring critical thinking. And that being the case, you’re right—they’re long gone. Quote

Canada is facing the same housing crisis as the rest of the world so immigration may be more difficult now. Quote
pfife Posted Monday at 02:43 PM Posted Monday at 02:43 PM A lot of business in the senate is conducted using unanimous consent to proceed. The Democrats definitely could grind the senate to a halt by not agreeing to unanimous consent. I didnt stay in a holiday inn express but have read multiple caro books about lbj in the senate. 1 Quote

The few people I interacted with spoke English. They would start by talking French and I would ask them if they spoke English, and they switched. I would be worried now how an American will be perceived there. Do I go around with a Harris shirt? Quote
