Shinzaki Posted Monday at 06:38 PM Posted Monday at 06:38 PM (edited) DE Josh Sweat may be signing with the Lions https://x.com/the_det_times/status/1899163813410156577?t=ZuLKO_ObKsnW-OvqTpwjzg&s=19 Edited Monday at 06:41 PM by Shinzaki Quote
Motown Bombers Posted Monday at 07:14 PM Posted Monday at 07:14 PM Looks like Sweat is signing with Arizona. That’s who I wanted the Lions to target. Quote
Shinzaki Posted Monday at 07:21 PM Posted Monday at 07:21 PM Dang...Sweat would have been a great add Quote

The Jets play sides, so Sauce didn't always take the other team's best receiver. Often times, teams would line up their best on Reed's side, and he still held his own. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted Monday at 08:15 PM Posted Monday at 08:15 PM (edited) I'm seeing all these ridiculous contracts thrown around and wondering how the Lions signed the top corner for a reasonable price. Edited Monday at 08:15 PM by Motown Bombers Quote
Tenacious D Posted Monday at 08:16 PM Posted Monday at 08:16 PM So we got him for $12M less than what Davis ended up being paid? Yowza!! Quote

buddha Posted Monday at 08:46 PM Posted Monday at 08:46 PM bears have really improved their interior oline. still not sure about their tackles, but they still have the #10 pick as well as carolina's second rounder. Quote

NYLion Posted Monday at 08:47 PM Posted Monday at 08:47 PM Really like the Reed signing, Lions still need a pass rusher and an interior D-lineman. Hutch and that band aid on the other side isn't gonna cut it and you don't want to shoehorn yourself into drafting for need so Brad needs to do something here. Quote
buddha Posted Monday at 08:55 PM Posted Monday at 08:55 PM jarrett supppsedly signed with the bears. Quote

Mr.TaterSalad Posted Monday at 09:19 PM Posted Monday at 09:19 PM Has Levi or Iffy signed anywhere or been linked to any organizations? I haven't seen anything yet on either. Quote
1984Echoes Posted Monday at 09:43 PM Posted Monday at 09:43 PM How is Reed against bigger receivers though? He's 5' 9". I'd like at least one good cover-CB that has size. I think I'd like Reed more in the slot as well, if he can cover the quicker guys/ slots... Charvarius Ward is probably going to be even more expensive than Davis though... Oh... and he just signed with the Colts for 3 and $60 mill. Quote
1984Echoes Posted Monday at 09:45 PM Posted Monday at 09:45 PM Maybe Shavon Revel slides to us all the way down in the 2nd... Quote

That "reasonable price" is still a boatload of money. To play for a very good coach, on a good team and a chance for a Super Bowl. Take an extra 2 million to play on a losing team? No thanks. . Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted Monday at 11:16 PM Posted Monday at 11:16 PM (edited) Apparently the top two Corners for PI calls were Terrion Arnold and the guy we just signed DJ Reed. So we're now putting out two starting corners that led the league in PI calls. I do worry at least a little bit if being overly handsy and/or not turning to play the ball as Arnold was caught doing catches up with us at all? Edited Monday at 11:20 PM by Mr.TaterSalad Quote
Nate7474 Posted yesterday at 12:20 AM Posted yesterday at 12:20 AM If I looked correctly only 3 penalties is the second half of the season. He made big strides at being less grabby. I think he’s going to develop into a very good CB2 this year and potentially CB1 for next year. Robertson goes back to slot and backup outside corner. Rakestraw is a backup at both roles with the plan to take over as primary slot in 26. 1 Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted yesterday at 12:57 AM Posted yesterday at 12:57 AM The style of play demanded by the Lions defense (and thus the corners they covet) is naturally going to demand more sticky coverage, which is naturally going to bring more penalties for DPI and Defensive Holding. It doesn’t really concern me. And no, y’all can’t quote me on this the first time I’m pissed at one of them for getting called for DPI. Quote
