Speaking of guys living off potential Amazing that Fields got 30 million guaranteed.

It’s got more to do with total desperation by teams without an established starting QB.

Vikings throwing around a lot of money. Makes sense since Kwesi can't draft and traded all of his picks.

This division is going to be very tough I think for the next few years. I doubt any team will be able to run away with it. I’m actually a little bit nervous about how long we will be able to maintain one of the top 2 spots. Probably need to find a development QB other then Hooker that will be cheap to help us continue to retain our stars and get cheaper at the QB position for after Goff in a couple years. Thinking not this year but one of the next couple drafts.

Maybe Iffy chose Miami because he has an opportunity for more playing time.

I would assume that's the reason. He'll get a chance to start here and we are stacked at Safety and he would only get to do so here if there was an injury.

I know we aren't going after the big dogs in free agency, but I'd still like to add one of the 2nd/B tier edge rushers out there. Azeez Ojulari is a name that interests me. He is still only 24 years old and has upside to still potentially get a little better. He has been somewhat productive as a pass rusher off the edge, when healthy, having had 6 and 8 sack seasons before. He also has the injury history Brad likes and so he should come a bit cheaper given that he's missed multiple games across multiple seasons.

I’m not as convinced. I think the Lions are the clear top dog right now.

The Vikings were exposed to end the season, and will be starting an effectively rookie QB. KOC is undeniably a good coach, but top to bottom the Lions have a better roster. Jordan Love looked like a pumpkin to end the season, but the Packers will be dangerous. Chicago is Chicago, and they won’t worry me until they can demonstrate an ounce of reality to their yearly hype train.

The Lions have won the division twice in a row now, went 6-0 in the division last year, and it feels like their crown to lose going into 2025.

The Lions are the best in the division at drafting and developing. That's how you build sustained success. The Packers are not far behind. The Vikings are the worst. They get by because they do well in free agency and have good coaching. Getting lucky in free agency only lasts so long.

Agreed for this season but I’m a little bit more nervous about 26/27. A lot with obviously depend on how Williams and McCarthy develop. I don’t love Williams but am a big fan of McCarthy specifically from a mental makeup and the coaching staff that the Vikings have. Good teams with rookie QB contracts can be tough.

With that said I absolutely believe we have the right coach/gm/ownership makeup to maintain success.

Disappointed for Carlton Davis that his one year in Detroit ended the way it did. He was a very good addition, and had he not been injured, things may have turned out much differently for the team in the playoffs. But Reed will be an excellent replacement, and Holmes has a strong enough roster that he can wait for pieces to fall into place.
