In other news, looks like the 49ers are going in full rebuild mode. Guess that's what happens when you waste three 1st round picks on Trey Lance. And when they're not living off of Purdy's rookie contract. In terms of the Lions, I'm a bit surprised that Holmes hasn't brought in a defensive end after cutting Za'Darius. I assumed he had something bigger cooking when he made that move and it hasn't materialized. Still way early in free agency though so makes me wonder if it's a trade he's looking at. Quote

He may be waiting Smith to check around and end up bringing him back for significantly less than the approx $11 mil in cap hit (spread over next 2 years) he would have cost for next year. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted yesterday at 09:36 PM Posted yesterday at 09:36 PM Still a couple Tier 3 rushers available, along with Smith. You have guys like Bosa, Miller, Fowler, Ojulari, Judon, and Lawrence. 1 Quote
Motown Bombers Posted yesterday at 10:36 PM Posted yesterday at 10:36 PM Lions get one comp pick in 2025 in the 3rd round for losing Aaron Glenn. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I would probably have given him that deal. Quote

They're "bringing in" Aidan Hutchinson. Then they re-signed Marcus Davenport from the bargain basement, and they will wait for FA market to settle before bringing in one or two other pieces. Quote

I would have made that deal and thought Bosa was a player Brad would target. He has the injury history that Brad likes and did end up coming at a better value than several other defensive lineman in this free agent class. Didn't we pay Davenport $10 million last offseason? Quote
Motown Bombers Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Davenport got 1 year $6.5 million with $3 million guaranteed. Bosa got $12 million guaranteed, literally double Davenport's contract. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Yeah, I see that now on Spotrac. I thought we had given him a $10 million deal for some reason but I was wrong. Quote
papalawrence Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago On AZ boards they're bummed to lose Lopez and call him a "Campbell type of player." Looks like nice pickup. Brad seems to be banking on the draft for an edge Quote
papalawrence Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Looks like Rams are releasing Kupp. I know edge needs to be addressed, but I love Kupp's toughness and he might come fairly cheap Quote
Motown Bombers Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Kupp and Goff have a history together. I'm not sure Kupp fits the X receiver they need. I'm surprised Reynolds hasn't signed with the Lions yet. Quote

And OK with possibly limited touches? He and Goff have a history together? Maybe Brad can make him an offer. But I would bet he doesn't want what the Lions offer. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Kupp is basically a #3 at this point in his career. I have a feeling though someone is going to give him a contract that is too rich for the Lions. I think the only possible way is if he decides to take less to play on a contender with his old buddy. buddha Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago levi re-signing for 1 year at $5.5 million is a great deal for the lions. 1 1 Quote
Motown Bombers Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago All of the Lions 2021 draft picks got 2nd contracts with the Lions except for Melifonwu who you could of argued the Lions should have signed. I think Jermar Jefferson is still on the practice squad. Quote
papalawrence Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Also signing LB Grant Stuard to a 1 yr deal. I'm not familiar with him Quote
