I know it won't happen, but on Valenti's show today they are talking about Trey Hendrickson. Valenti went as far as saying if he had to, he'd let a Branch, Joseph, or LaPorta walk when their rookie deals are up if it meant having Hendrickson now. He said he would trade for Hendrickson and offer him 3 years @ $105 million with $80 million guaranteed.

If it were up to you, would you make a trade to get Hendrickson that involved multiple high picks and then sign him to the above 3 year deal? Would you be ok with getting Hendrickson if it meant you lost one of your high profile starters like Branch, Joseph, or LaPorta?

No. Another example of your latch onto an idea and never let go. And why listen to that crap?

Do you feel this team would be more successful without Hendrickson on it then? If the goal is to win a Super Bowl, doesn't Hendrickson on this team in the immediate here and now for next season help get us closer to achieving that goal?

Howie Roseman and the Eagles went out and made two big moves when they signed Saquon Barkley and Bryce Huff and that certainly worked out in their favor and helped get them to a Super Bowl. The year before the 49'ers made a big move and added Javon Hargrave, who was a big part of their defense that got them to a Super Bowl.

I would be all for trading draft picks. Even if Brad were to find the next superstar in the draft, could we sign him as well as Hutch, Branch and Kirby? As for taking on Hendrikson and giving him a huge contract? IDK..I mean, I don't see Brad doing that anyway so there's no point in thinking about it. Just...not happening.

you cant sign henderickson and keep their depth.  i'd rather keep the depth and draft someone.

If Hutch stayed healthy last year the Lions would have won the Super Bowl. No need for a major move.

I agree.   More than Hutch though.  They lost several guys, it's amazing they went 15-2.     I think they'll get there within the next 2 seasons.

What type of value does Williams offer up? A 2nd round pick? 3rd round pick?

Not enough to be smart trading him now imo-he’s worth more than even one first to this team right now.

I have to say, short of getting a Trey Hendrickson or similar caliber, top-tier player, I don't understand trading Jaymo now. We're in a Super Bowl window to win the Lombardi now and trading one of our top offensive weapons, and one of our only deep threats, doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I think Jaymo adds too much value to this offense to be shipped off for future assets or a 2nd/3rd round pick that may not be an immediate contributor. Unless we get a high end current NFL player as part of a Jaymo trade, I'll be disappointed if he's traded this offseason.

I feel like the time to trade him may be next year. Let him put up another good season and get a 1st. When you draft as well as the Lions, You are going to have to make tough decisions and can't keep everybody.

I agree-draft a receiver in the middle rounds this year and trade Jamo next offseason.  Even if the lose a round or 2 of value, it’s worth it for this season

Speaking of drafting well, here's a "Draft power rankings" from the past 5 drafts according  to the Athletic where based off of their metrics they assigned an added value. The Lions topped the list despite having to include the 2020 draft and the disaster Okudah pick.

Feel same way. I highly doubt he's going to get traded.

I would rather they not trade him. However, if they get one of the top WR in the draft this year then I could see the advantage of trading away someone you don’t plan on resigning. Pick up a second or third/plus this year to still take advantage of the decent depth of DE and OG to fill out the roster. This would allow them to save some cap money to extend the defensive players that are going to start getting expensive quick.

Again it’s not what I would do as it seems little bit to risky to take away from a strength of this roster for an unknown and there will be other opportunities to get cheaper or replace players.

Thing is, they don’t need to save the cap money this year.  I’m ok doing everything you said, but trade him next offseason and you likely get the return you mentioned.  It usually takes a rookie receiver most of a season to get acclimated and where they are at, it’s not a luxury they have without hurting this season’s offense significantly.

Not gonna get a 1st for him if a huge contract is needed. A rebuilding team wouldn't go that route and trading him to a contender could come back to bite us.

I’d trade Jamo and 2 firsts for Micah Parsons.

Not sure there’s anything else available that I’d trade him for at this point.   Keep him and run it back from last year.

More smoke though: Jamo cut off his link to Lions social media... or something like that...

Trading Jamo now means a team can pick up his 5th year and have two relatively affordable years to both have his services and to evaluate fit/ temperament etc...

I'm not certain what that's worth...

But it's also possible that Holmes is thinking the "it's better to cut ties one year too early rather than one year too late..."

I don't know what he's thinking... But I think for myself I will wait for all the pieces to stop moving and evaluate at that point. If Brad has a plan, and it makes the team better, I'm good. Even if it costs Jamo...

Trey Hendrickson.

Parsons or Hendrickson. I would love Parsons... but he would cost at least those two 1sts...

I wonder what it would cost to get Hendrickson in a Jamo trade? If it's nothing but a 2026 3rd rounder and a 2025 6th or 7th... I might prefer Hendrickson even though Parsons is far superior (and younger).
