For those of us who assumed last week’s game would have been over if the Lions had gone up 14-3, the Commanders fell behind today 14-3 but have closed to 14-12.

Barkley is pretty good. He'll be the next Gibbs if they lose. Get him the ball 25 times, they would get a week off...

I'm usuaklly of the mind that I want the team that beat me to win the whole thing—you know, it took the champs to beat us, and all.

But if Washington wins, we could say we coulda beat Philly to go to the Super Bowl. 🤫🤔

I hate seeing refs missing calls. Like delay of game?

If anyone on the defense sees the play clock hit zero, they should be allowed to start moving forward even if it’s prior to the snap. The split second jump could make a difference.

Commanders are not a top ten team in this league. The Lions should be embarrassed.

The defense finally broke.  Robertson going down on the first play was the death blow.

It did make a difference. Washington got a 1st down on that 4th down play and then a TD. Use a buzzer like the NBA. They don't get extra time.

Anybody else kind of sort of rooting for Washington to go all the way?

Nope. They're the last team I want to win, and not because they beat the Lions.

The Eagles offense likely would have been rampant against the depleted Lions' defense. Maybe the Eagles would have run less and passed more than they did against the Commanders. And maybe not 55 points, but 40+ a real possibility. Lions offense would have been hard-pressed to score that many against this Eagles defense. Of course we will never know and I wish we had the chance to find out, as I'd always prefer losing one round later, but I get the feeling today might not have been a happy ending even if the Lions had got by Washington.

I thought it was pretty interesting they went DC before OC, when the outside consensus was that there is more offensive coaching talent on the staff.

I’m sure they would do due diligence regardless of their gut instinct, but if it was Engstrand’s or Montgomery’s job to lose, I would think they would have signed both them and Sheppard at the same time.

I feel like there was more consensus that Shephard was a future defensive coordinator, but I haven't seen a consensus on a future coordinator on the offensive side.

And now the Chiefs get it it to run the clock down to the 2 minute warning even though the play clock numbers seem like they would hit 0 at 2:01

They didn't lose because they called a pass on 3rd and 1. Goff is being paid $53 million. He needs to hang on the ball. Gibbs could have fumbled the ball as well.

They also didn't win because they called a pass on 3rd and 1. Yes, Goff blew it, but this was also one of a few key decisions the coaching staff made that were overly aggressive that backfired.

Everyone knew that Washington's run defense was its weakest link. Though Montgomery was a little rusty early (and the staff was overly aggressive in letting a rusty Montgomery open the game), there was no reason not to let Gibbs put pressure on Washington's run defense early and often.

Campbell's aggressiveness has made the Lions a much tougher opponent. Sometimes being aggressive for the sake of being aggressive is not the right play, and it wasn't on that play. They spent the whole game trying to come back from it.
