The thing that bothers me is the dynamic pricing.

No clue if the Pistons use it or not but a lot of teams do.  And if they do, this game would have been priced with those guys playing.  Now that they are not playing, that pricing is wrong.  True dynamic pricing wouldn't charge you until they tip and based on that lineup.

Ku breaking down the aggressive pick and roll blitzing defense that JB has had the Pistons using for the last month or so.

Basically, they figured out that Duren can't handle drop coverage (or switching) so they're going to use his athleticism to trap. This scheme requires you to not let the ballhandler turn the corner (or you're cooked) and the rest of the team  has to rotate well. You can wind up with some weird matchups, but it can also throw off the opponent's set play and cause disruption that results in turnovers.

GS is a very good passing team that will probably pick it apart, but it's worked well for this win streak the Pistons have been on.

SVG used to do this with Dre and I hated it because Dre was so lumbering that the ballhandler just went around him and it basically turned into Dre getting in the way and screening his own teammate. It's working better with the current roster of big men.

All you can do as a coach is put your players in the best situation to win. Sounds like they are doing that.

But yeah. Good teams will destroy that.  At least JB is trying.

I didn't see the start but ESPN lists him as the starter in the box score.

I saw the TV stat bar and it showed his stats under "bench points." Maybe it was because he was on the bench at the time.

Really sucks for all the fans that paid money just to see Steph and Draymond.

A couple years back my friend took his then 13 yr old son to see Steph, ended up ponying up for Courtside seats and everything.

Of course Steph ended up sitting but my friend's son brought a sign saying something to the effect of Steph being his fave player and when Steph saw it he came over and signed some things and talked to my friend and his son. Really cool gesture and something he didn't have to do.

Pretty bad loss.  If you are trying to convince people you are good, you need to beat bad teams at home even with the travel last night.

I don't think it was the back to back. There were two main issues:

1) Defense - Pistons looked lost trying to guard the Warriors constant movement and screening. They're just not a great off-ball rotation team and GS got a ton of wide open layups with our dudes staring at each other trying to figure out whose fault it was. The trapping scheme doesn't work well against a team that doesn't run a ton of primary ball handler pick-n-roll action and constantly moves off-ball.

2) Offense - The glaring problem that has existed for years reared it's head. The Pistons struggle against any team that presses up and overplays them on the perimeter. They don't have guys that can beat you off the dribble to force a collapse and kick-out and they don't move/screen/cut off ball enough. Sadly, that's how it will look in the playoffs as well when teams really D-up.

That said, they showed the fight to bring it within striking distance near the end which was admirable after how terrible the offense looked for most of the game.

I know I’ve heard this story specifically about Curry before.  Either you mentioned it before or this is a similar story which kind of confirms that it’s something he’s done before.

They’re still a flawed team, so the loss isn’t a shock.  But agree with you on not giving up on a comeback.  They were down a good margin late but never packed it in.
