Deleterious Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Next part of his game he needs to work on is his efficiency. He had a 56.9% TS% over those 20 games, which is ugly. Most of the elite players are north of 60%. He needs to draw more fouls. That will help his shooting% around the rim go up (misses turn into fouls so now they don't count as misses) and he needs to shoot better at the line. 79% over those 20 games. He is at 84% for his career, so not real sure why he is shooting so poorly from the line this year. Quote

The TS he should be able to improve though and no excuse not to shoot >80% from the stripe. Edited January 10 by gehringer_2 Quote
Betrayer Posted January 11 Posted January 11 The thing to remember is Cade just turned 23 this season. He'll get better. Shai's 4th season when he was 23 years old: .453 FG% .300 3P% .514 2PG% .496 eFG% .810 FT% 5.0 REB 5.9 AST 1.3 STL 0.8 BLK 2.8 TOV 24.5 PTS Cade's 4th (effectively 3rd) season at 23 years old: .457 FG% .376 3P% .497 2PG% .518 eFG% .792 FT% 6.6 REB 9.3 AST 0.9 STL 0.8 BLK 4.3 TOV 24.3 PTS Difference is that Shai's team had a real GM (and some assets to trade), so they've built something around Shai that can contend. The Pistons have Cade... 1 Quote
Deleterious Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Awful defense by Fontecchio. 6 second left if you go for the steal you better get it. He didn't and Toronto got a wide open 3 attempt that went in at the end of the quarter. Quote
Deleterious Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Barnes goes scoreless in the 1st and its still tied. Better get this one. Schedule gets pretty rough the next 10 or so. Quote
Deleterious Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Looks like THJ is gonna give us one of his 8 good games this year. Quote
Deleterious Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Cade is 1 rebound away from a triple double. He is also 2 TO's away from a quadruple double. Quote
Deleterious Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Starting to think his extension is going to cost just a bit more. Quote

buddha Posted January 12 Posted January 12 remember when people said scottie barnes was better than cade? Quote

papalawrence Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Pistons in the 8th seed now, and only 1.5 games behind the 4th seed. It's been a very long time since I've had positive thoughts about the recent Pistons. Probably not since the SVG "build a f***ing wall!" game. Quote

As the resident Cade fan boy, I don't think I have ever said anyone in that class would be better than Cade. If I did, it would have been Mobley. I simply said when Barnes won ROY and made the ASG that he was better than Cade. And he was. Quote

I expect the optimism for fans to come crashing down pretty quick. Pistons can compete for a playoff spot but it's only because three quarters of the league is bad to mediocre. Quote
Hart Posted January 12 Posted January 12 (edited) I do think the turnovers are a pretty big achilles heel for Cade. Which is why I keep advocating for the Pistons to find a point guard. I don't buy they are offset by high assists numbers either. I would gladly trade some assists for less turnovers. Assist numbers can be inflated by stat keepers and also are skewed by quality of shooters. I think both of these things play a big factor in assists numbers in the current game. He is great. Not denying that. But to truly become one of the games elite players, I think he has to get the turnovers down. I don't think he is ever going to be a guy that draws a lot of fouls at the rim. I could be wrong about that; he is still young. But that's my feeling at the moment. Edited January 12 by Hart Quote
