Jamo had already taken and end around for a TD earlier, they probably hoped the DB's would all be worried about that and maybe left a receiver open. He just shouldn't have thrown that up for grabs.

Still not the time or place to put the decision and execution in Jamo’s hands.  Totally unnecessary when they were moving the ball well without trickery.  No reason to be desperate.

On the second defensive play of the game, Amik Robertson — who had his best game as a pro against Minnesota — went down with a gruesome injury. By the third quarter they were also missing Branch and Melifonwu. The injury luck this defense had this year was unimaginably and unprecedentedly bad.

Amik’s injury early limited what the defense could do and I believe it made Johnson and Goff put pressure on themselves to get too cute. They both started playing hero ball rather than letting Gibbs gash Washington’s defense on the ground and relying on the intermediate passing game. They kept rolling the dice and it kept coming up snake eyes.

It was an awful weekend of football, but if Buffalo and Washington end up in the Super Bowl at least we’ll know we got beat by the champ.

What do Chris Smith, Jonah Williams, Morice Norris Jr, Myles Adam and Stantley Thomas-Oliver III have in common? They all took snaps for the Lions on defense on Saturday.

They all have NOT been in my kitchen.

Highest total yards, 521, of the 8 teams. Only the Commanders were within 100 yards of that.

2nd most points scored of the 8 teams, behind only the Commanders of course.

But no team in the other 3 games gave up more than 28 points, compared to the 45 points yielded by the Lions.

But how many times did Gibbs get the ball

And the Lions problem wasn't moving the ball. Their one and only punt was 67 seconds into the game. The only other times the Lions failed to either score a TD or get inside the Skins' 30 were the 1st interception by Goff and the interception by Jamo. The problem was the red zone fumble up 7-3, an interception into the end zone to end the 1st half, and a red zone interception in the final minute of the game. 11 drives: 1 punt, 4 TDs, 1 FG, 5 turnovers.
