Just too many injuries on defense. This turned into anti-complimentary football.

Defense couldn't get stops, Offense made too many mistakes.

With our lack of defense, our offense needed to be nearly perfect. Holding them to a FG was like a stop for us.

If I'm the Saints I'm reconsidering hiring Aaron Glenn.

I don't think anyone is hiring Glenn because hes a great DC.  I think hes on people radar because of his leadership of men. So I doubt this game changes anyone's minds.  I think we lose both coordinators if they want the jobs their offered.

Great season, tough way for it to end.  I thought we were going to fold earlier when the injuries piled up.

Get healthy, make some defensive additions and we’ll get after it again next season.

Assuming everyone comes back healthy, I don't think you need anymore defensive additions.

DL: Hutch, McNeill, Reader, Smith
LB: Barnes, Campbell, Anzalone
DB: Davis, Branch, Joseph, Arnold

Plug in those four players and you'll get much more QB pressure, much better WR defense, and better run defense as well.

Obviously you always try to upgrade, but this defense is not a bad defense when healthy. Just way too many injuries to over come.

Everyone will pick the Lions to regress next year

Schedule looks brutal and they will still lose both coordinators. 11-6 would have been easier to take coming off at least a Super Bowl appearance.

The Lions will get back to work and they still have a ton of talent, and a great GM and the right coach. But one thing will change. They will no longer be the media darlings. Not until they get to the Super Bowl.

Well his men were completely unprepared tonight.

McNeill won't be back next year. Possibly a return late in the season

Sure, but I really don’t put the blame on him only. Let’s be honest we knew the defense was not going to get many stops. We obviously were hoping for maybe a couple 4th down stops and a turnover. But what we didn’t get was a clean game on offense.

I did not like the blitzing game plan tonight but I also don’t think it would’ve been the plan with better health.

Lions should still be favorites for the division next year. Minnesota has a dilemma with Darnold, and they have a lot of free agents and no draft picks. The Packers are overrated and lack true stars. The Bears are still a ways off. Run it back with some minor tweaks and hope for better health.

Agree about the North - should still belong to the Lions. They'll return a juggernaut offense, Ben Johnson or no Ben Johnson. That side of the ball is loaded.

Just not sure about that DLine. No McNeill until possibly November (if at all), Reader is 32, Z is also getting old (not that he brought much anyway). Outside of Hutch...  ?

Position by position it’s hard to name one where Washington is better, but this isn’t a best-of-five series. You can’t afford to go down 21-0, or cough up multiple turnovers.

The only way they lose this game and they said hold my beer.

The stud playmakers on both sides of the ball are all in their 20s and most are signed for a few years. They'll be back and should have more chances.  That said I'm in the dumps right now and will be for a day or two. Pistons and Wings are hot, and pitchers and catchers report in a few weeks.

We did? I didn't know one person who thought we wouldn't win if not easily. Same for the Vegas guys. And pundits everywhere. I'm amused at all the condescending comments on these boards that casually say "oh, we knew it would happen with all these injuries"

This reminds me of the 1996 Red Wings.    They set a record with 62 wins and didn't get to the Finals

Sure, they regressed a bit in the regular season, but then the March 26th game galvanized them and they won it all

I see something similar with the Lions.    The Lions are the type of team that almost has to be an underdog to be comfortable.

3 losses all year - all were at home.

If you think this is the end of their run, you are nuts and you don't know what you're talking about.    This team will have at least 3 more years of very good football and hopefully fewer injuries.    If Brad keeps drafting the way he does, it'll be more than 3 years.

Sure, it stings.

PAIN IS PART OF THE PROCESS

31 fanbases end the season sadly, we're just one of them.

Now - please - anyone but the ****ing Chiefs.
