Michigan Football 2025: Rebuilding an offense, hoping our defense remains solid

Michigan gets 4/5 star(depends on the site) OT Ty Haywood to flip from Alabama to them today on signing day. They end up finishing top 5 or 6 depending on the source. Would not have predicted that 3 or 4 months ago.

Michigan signed seventeen 4 star+ recruits in the 247 composite rankings. Definitely one of if not the best class they have signed in recent memory even if they did "only" finish 6th in the rankings.

Unfortunately, this isn’t 2017 when you had 3 or 4 years guaranteed with recruits.

This class is good for one year.  Expect at least half of those top 100 recruits to put their name in the portal and have to be re-recruited to come back in 2026.

the reduced roster sizes guarantee all of that.  Everyone has the same issue.  You just need to ensure you put the right overall reduced roster on the field at once and have them coached up.

Its not unique to Michigan and if its enforced across the board (looking in your direction SEC), then it will create a semblance of balance around the programs that can come up with NIL coin.

Just really looked at Michigan's schedule next year and it's about as easy as you can get in this day and age with the expanded Big 10. No Oregon, no Penn State, no Indiana(if you feel they will be legit next year), get teams like Wisconsin and Washington at home along of course with Ohio State.

Even the marquee non conference game with Oklahoma doesn't look as tough as you would've expected a couple years, many early rankings don't even have them in the top 25 so that should be a winnable game even though it's on the road.

Sounds official.

Perhaps he learned about toxic work environments somewhere since the Lions or maybe he's looking forward to coaching in college because as certain coaches have shown you can have a toxic environment and keep your job.

Great news for Michigan.

Who do we want for our Defense off that team?  They have some great talent to choose from.  Open up the checkbooks and let them know a non-toxic, professional work environment beckons up North.

lol yeah the entire defense is going to transfer because a DC with 3 super bowl rings was hired.

I am not a big fan of the Patricia hiring, mostly because of the alleged sexual assault, but this is just fantasy

They do have great talent to choose from.  They should have found a better human to coach their defense.
