They had some good players Modano.     We had some playoff battles with them.    They were one of the Islanders victims one season.   Made an unlikely run to lose to Mario in the finals in what, 92?   

I remember the anger when they were taken away

I remember one year in the playoffs, Wings and Stars went to OT and we're all putting a dollar in on who would score the winner in OT and my friend's cousin just yells out YVES RACINE - who had 5 goals all year and a 33-game pointless streak.    He took the kitty that night.   One of the most brilliant calls ever.   Almost as brilliant as my call in December 2004 as the Lions came back from 28-14 vs. the Vikings and as they scored to make it 28-27 I yelled out "They're gonna muff the snap".   Yep.

You could tell they were going to give it up. They didn't have the gas to pursue the puck at all short handed or at the end of the game generally. Did Kasper, Berggren or Veleno even dress for this game?

Washington, #1 in the conference but with no players at 4 Nations, came out of the break flying, blowing out Pittsburgh 8-3. 

New York Rangers, #11 in the conference and having sent 6 players to 4 Nations, got bombed 8-2 by Buffalo.

Flying start for the Wings against Anaheim with 3 goals in first 5:06 of the game. Now 3-1 after 1.

Thank goodness. Pistons and Wings both win at almost the same time. But giving away 2 goal leads back to back really sucks.
