I mean... it will take a few years for the payoff but... 500-1500 or so FBI agents wouldn't move a needle too much but yes... Also, Detroit does have a very legit national security nexus because of all the international trade and international corporations in SE Michigan. I'm not against the general idea of shifting function there. I'm sure Kash is all about smashing the "Dearborn Mooselambs" on behalf of Suzy Tradwife. Quote
Edman85 Posted February 28 Posted February 28 There's an FBI office a couple miles from my house. I've never really thought of it as anything more than pretty cool that I'm among FBI agents in the general public, tbh. As an aside, Gaetz's old district has a loooooooot of federal workers, and trust me when I say DOD has not been shielded from this bs as people thought. Quote

Is his district the one with Eglin/Hurlburt Field? Edit: Yep I spent my share of time in the Redneck Rivera aka LA, aka Lower Alabama. No shortage of special ops folks trained on the very large Eglin AFB range which is notable for having been denuded of anything you could eat by every other person going through survival training on that range. When it comes to in major cities, Minneapolis does not have an exceptionally high violent crime rate. But they did have the highly-visible George Floyd killing and subsequent protests there. And Chicago’s violent crime rate is lower than theirs. Quote

If the government buys a truck, that's just as real a piece of production as if i bought it. And if the government pays a Post office employee, the service is just as real as if that service was provided by a UPS employee paid privately. IOW, Elon doesn't know jack about what he's talking about. But of course, we knew that. I did have the advantage of having Elon's ignorance demonstrated to me a while ago as some of our kids got a hyperloop project proposal funded. Everyone at the Eng School laughed at the whole idea, but we took his money anyway. 😂 Quote

Or that they know enough more about it than we think so that all they have to do is craft a dumb argument that sounds smart enough to convince ignorant red hats. To do that right, you have to know at least something about the subject matter at hand. Edited March 2 by chasfh Quote
