Hongbit Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Sad how many empty seats in the lower bowl for a Friday night game. Looks horrible. Quote
Hart Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Hard to know what to make of this with the Sixers seemingly not bothering to show up. Tonight is a more fun brand of basketball to watch. With Cade having such a good year, it had become a lot of 4 guys doing a lot of watching 1 ball dominant player that is trying to ascend to being among the leagues best players. That's not a knock against Cade. It's just not the best path to long term success for this group of players I don't believe. Ivey's development is so important to this team. And probably Ausar's too. In addition to Cade continuing to get better. Quote
Hongbit Posted February 8 Posted February 8 76ers blew a 26 point earlier this week and the Clippers blew a 22 point lead last night. Need to keep playing defense 1 Quote
Hart Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Sasser really hurt the Pistons for a stretch there. Kind of thought they should have put Ausar back in to try and stop the bleeding. Quote

Sports_Freak Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I was watching the ESPN feed for awhile and those announcers are horrible. George Blaha is very under-rated. Quote
buddha Posted February 8 Posted February 8 no worries. this sixers team could not give a shiite. Quote
buddha Posted February 8 Posted February 8 looks like friends and family in attendance tonight. another crap crowd for the pistons. Quote

True but the Pistons going cold had me nervous. I could see Philly going for a bunch of 3 pointers and Detroit not covering them. They hit a few to get close but then missed some key ones down the stretch. That Thompson steal was huge! Quote
Sports_Freak Posted February 8 Posted February 8 It's a matter of no respect. None. The Pistons just played one of their best games in years and these ESPN clowns are ONLY talking about Philly. Total disrespect. Quote
Tigeraholic1 Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 Take the W and hope Cade heals up. I am guessing he probably sits out Sunday. Quote
Hart Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I thought the Sixers played hard in the second half until the very end it and it was clear the comeback attempt was futile. I believe Embiid played the entire third quarter so it's not like they were conceding. The Pistons looked like they felt the pressure of trying to hold a big lead also. And it did not help that Ausar was in foul trouble. Fortunately, they had enough to hold the lead in the end. Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I don't care who Philly played or not, you win a game without Cade and that's impressive. I wish they'd done more at the trade deadline. They may have gotten a little more depth, but I can't believe there wasn't a player out there somewhere. They might be one good player away from making things quite interesting. But heck, I was looking back at the season predictions and nobody had them winning 26 games all year. Nice to see. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I just watched the highlights of that Philly game? Who is their coach? With efforts like that he probably shouldn't be their coach much longer. That was an embarrassing effort. Don't get me wrong, I'll take it, but only one team came to play last night and it wasn't PHILA. Quote
Shinzaki Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Embiid yelling at Oubre for dogging it on defense was amusing...and yes...ironic Quote
Hongbit Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Philly is screwed. Embiid and PG are making $100M and neither are able to stay on the floor. Not sure how good either is at this point even if they could play 70+games. Maxey is the star on that team but Joel still thinks it’s him. Quote
NYLion Posted February 8 Posted February 8 (edited) Missed the game but I heard that Ausar was impressive running the team. I've always felt that he had the 2nd highest ceiling on this team, has elite of the elite athleticism and feel for the game so if he got his 3 point shot up to respectable levels he could be an All Star and even if he doesn't (like what his brother is now) that's still a very good player. Tiny sample size but with Ausar running the team so well it makes me wonder if they should try an experiment of him sharing the ballhandling duties with Cade and seeing if they have something with Cade playing some offball which I always thought he would excel at, not that he isn't excelling as is as the primary ballhandler but in terms of scoring efficiency which has kind of cratered a bit lately. Why does it have to be that Philly played like trash, maybe the Pistons played well. Give them some credit. Edited February 8 by NYLion Quote
Shinzaki Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Duren with 7 assists...three shy of a triple double. He has his flaws..he has his uses Quote

Paying guys on past performance can really mess up a team (Alex Bregman peaked 5 years ago, by the way). Quote
