Hard to know what to make of this with the Sixers seemingly not bothering to show up.

Tonight is a more fun brand of basketball to watch.  With Cade having such a good year, it had become a lot of 4 guys doing a lot of watching 1 ball dominant player that is trying to ascend to being among the leagues best players.  That's not a knock against Cade.  It's just not the best path to long term success for this group of players I don't believe.  Ivey's development is so important to this team.  And probably Ausar's too.  In addition to Cade continuing to get better.

Sasser really hurt the Pistons for a stretch there.  Kind of thought they should have put Ausar back in to try and stop the bleeding.

no worries.  this sixers team could not give a shiite.

Maybe so but with no Cade? I could have seen it going the other way. Philly was 6-1 with their 3 stars healthy and playing together.

good game from detroit, but once the sixers got down big they quit.  because its a team that doesnt care.

True but the Pistons going cold had me nervous. I could see Philly going for a bunch of 3 pointers and Detroit not covering them. They hit a few to get close but then missed some key ones down the stretch. That Thompson steal was huge!

I thought the Sixers played hard in the second half until the very end it and it was clear the comeback attempt was futile.  I believe Embiid played the entire third quarter so it's not like they were conceding.  The Pistons looked like they felt the pressure of trying to hold a big lead also.  And it did not help that Ausar was in foul trouble.  Fortunately, they had enough to hold the lead in the end.

The game was on in the background while I was in a group and someone noted they looked like they were getting tired in the 4th, - the rest of them weren't use to playing that much. :classic_laugh:

I don't care who Philly played or not, you win a game without Cade and that's impressive.   I wish they'd done more at the trade deadline.  They may have gotten a little more depth, but I can't believe there wasn't a player out there somewhere.   They might be one good player away from making things quite interesting.   But heck, I was looking back at the season predictions and nobody had them winning 26 games all year.   Nice to see.

I just watched the highlights of that Philly game?

Who is their coach?

With efforts like that he probably shouldn't be their coach much longer.

That was an embarrassing effort.

Don't get me wrong, I'll take it, but only one team came to play last night and it wasn't PHILA.

Philly is screwed.  Embiid and PG are making $100M and neither are able to stay on the floor.  Not sure how good either is at this point even if they could play 70+games.    Maxey is the star on that team but Joel still thinks it’s him.

Missed the game but I heard that Ausar was impressive running the team. I've always felt that he had the 2nd highest ceiling on this team, has elite of the elite athleticism and feel for the game so if he got his 3 point shot up to respectable levels he could be an All Star and even if he doesn't (like what his brother is now) that's still a very good player.

Tiny sample size but with Ausar running the team so well it makes me wonder if they should try an experiment of him sharing the ballhandling duties with Cade and seeing if they have something with Cade playing some offball which I always thought he would excel at, not that he isn't excelling as is as the primary ballhandler but in terms of scoring efficiency which has kind of cratered a bit lately.

Seriously. Why does it have to be that Philly played like trash, maybe the Pistons played well. Give them some credit.

Paying guys on past performance can really mess up a team (Alex Bregman peaked 5 years ago, by the way).
